This is very beautiful song. Her voice is magical and wonderfully high and clear.

I like to think of this song, and "He doesn't see me" as parallels from each person, because that would be so cute and so tragic. Like ... they both secretly love each other, and think the other great, but they don't realise the other person feels the same way and then they never get together. c':

As a real romanticist I simply love this. That platonic theme. One of my favourite songs.

And yet, the melody and the words are not from her. It's a french artist called Jean Jacques Goldman who wrote "elle ne me voit pas"... "She doesnt see me"

My mind is getting blown lol. I’m french and I watched the live action Astérix movies (the first two, at least) when I was younger. Except I totally forgot that this song came from the first Astérix movie. Originally, the song was composed and sang by Jean Jacques Goldman, a hugely prolific and talented french composer/singer (really, everyone and their mother knows him in France). I’m here because Sarah Brightman latest album is getting promoted right now in France, I was searching for the track list and I’ve read Goldman collaborated on a song. But it’s much more than a collab. It’s an old Goldman song from a french movie that Brightman sang in english for the english release (I had no idea the movies got an English dub and stuff ahah). There are 2 (or 3... I dunno lol) English versions because the original song was initially from a man’s point of view (about his unrequited feelings for a woman... Obelix about Falbala in the movie). The second version is adapted for Brightman, as she sings about her unrequited feelings for a man. Anyway, I love all the versions of the song. But damn... I completely forgot about its existence until now !

makes me wanna look in the mirror and cry until my tears turn to rage towards my own reflection and i shatter the glass.
My mom likes Sarah Brightman, she has this CD, more importantly perhaps, my Mom likes the Bagpipes music that plays at 2:39 . i like Bagpipes too.

I think this is far the better song than the 'He Doesn't See Me" version also by Sarah Brightman. It's a different experience to hear an observation of other people's emotions, expressing the singer's empathy and understanding, which comes across as very poignant. But the first person female version (as "He Doesn't See Me"), changes the dynamic and the impact is less poetic and more "poor me". However the version by Jean Jacques Goldman is very moving, and he sings from the male first person. So I guess it's all personal preference! But I'm so glad I got the "La Luna" CD on it's first release, with this version on it

Is it true that "This Love," "Here With Me," and "La Luna" are all different on the original version from the U.S. release? I'm curious what those differences are because the original songs aren't online. In particular, I'm curious to know if "La Luna" is sung in "full operatic style" as it says on Wikipedia. I've only ever heard the one on the U.S. release. :)

Do birds and other animals come and listen when you sing in your garden Sarah? What reaction do you get when you sing to a lion or an elephant... Does the ocean go calm and the wind die down?

I have this CD, "La Luna". The song "She doesn't see him", is not the one that is on this album/CD, shown above. On my CD, the song is "He doesn't see me". Same tune. Same words, only the she/he and him/her, are different. Wonder why? Were there two versions of this CD/album released? I've never heard this version of the song. It's nice, but I think I like the one on my "La Luna" CD better. Of course, it's Sarah singing, so it's really perfect either way. :-)

This was the version on the first press of the album (released in Europe only). There are some other differences, too (the song La Lina sounds different, there is no vocalise in “Serenade”...)

I have the US version and she says "he doesn't see me". An absolutley beautiful song. I like so many of her songs and several just bring tears to my eyes (Meadowlark and First of May). Wy wife of 16 years introduced me to Sarah Brightman as an artist in around 1998!
