@ed_Skynight

@@CloneCommanderCrater1102 Not just that, in the Kool Aid man vs Macho man fight it was implied then too. Though I think it’s safe to say in the canon for death battle any canon deaths or stuff like that in or out of the shows timeline won’t be affected. I mean the characters are known for created simulations of famous fictional characters fighting to the death for the entertainment of others, outside views of that could make it sound like the Roman gladiator fights, so maybe the fights themselves aren’t really at all impactful.

Sarge was one of my favorite characters of Red vs Blue. In many ways his antics were the heart and soul of RvB with his wacky schemes critical to the adventure so while I cried when watching and don't entirely like it, it is fitting in a way, that one of the most beloved characters died, signifying the end of the adventure

Sarge’s death was so dumb, I hated the fact he stood in front of the door so predictably. I literally expected a gag about how it would’ve been an “obvious mistake” if he stood there. That being said, Sarge and Caboose team-ups are some of my favorite moments in the entire series. Some gruff Blue hater and a dumbass with a heart of gold. I do love that the last thing Sarge got to do before giving a good pep talk to Grif and Simmons was actually saving Caboose. It was definitely sweet, I just wish it was done better I guess.

My biggest problem with Sarge's death wasn't that he died, but *how* he died. Good lord, everyone that's ever seen any cliche movie trope saw his death coming from a mile away once he continued to stand *directly in front of the thin door* that the Meta was charging at with an energy sword. The fact that if Sarge had either just stood with the rest of the team or even stood a little to the left of the door (where the wall was thicker and safer) he would've avoided his death, made the overall scene *so* unserious.

Lets be honest. They aren't smart. They have never been. They have been luckily competent when the opportunity arose. Luck is on their side until it's just not.. They get their ass kicked constantly, but manage to scrape by no matter the stakes. They finally had some of that luck run dry and this moment was made to show that they just can't do this without being willing to lose it all.. They have rallied before against death and impossible odds but they never had anything TRULY lost aside from Church. This was an eventuality, idiot savants can't just go unscathed forever

@@keosniperThank you for explaining it. I did see the death coming, and had it spoiled for me right before watching. But it still is very fitting for the bumbling fools we have come to know and love over the years. Still has me cut up to see him dead. Yet, I believe it was the best thing that could've happened to actually help wrap up the series. His death does so much to advance the other characters, and allows the Red team to finally disband at the very end. Simmons got his promotion, Griff is happy and home. It just sucks to see him go. R.I.P. Sarge.

Frankly Burnie missed the mark on the last season. I couldn’t enjoy it because it started with Grif being so agitated off the bat. I can’t blame him here. It’s like they didn’t do all the saving they did. It’s acknowledged that they did but it’s like their reward was being punished. By the end a bunch of AI and freelancer stuff was used to give closure that we already moved forward from. It felt unnecessary. Not to say Wash and Carolina don’t have trauma but it was a bad choice to bring all that back for an attempt to raise emotions in fans. I’m not accepting this as canon. I blame gas for bitching about the last few seasons. I’d rather they picked up on last season. Have Wash not be same as he can fight anymore due to injury and the rest of them just take it easy. Last minute shenanigans instead of whatever this was. Everyone felt so isolated. The canyon never felt empty before this. And I’m not talking about Grif leaving. All throughout the dudes were saviors but acted like they were back to square one with each other completely but more serious which made even the fun parts less enjoyable. I think Burns was trying to appease by giving a final fight, throwing in recalls and old jokes to make people happy. And old AI stuff to make things interesting but we were pass that. Even sigma was mistreated se high shows when all the AI appear when Church and Carolina met with the director. Seeing him and the rest just felt forced. To bring all that back and squeeze in everything else made for the worst ending ever.

It feels like a lot of honestly great moments an ideas just thrown together in a rush (which makes sense considering the company’s shut down) like Carolina just falls from the sky, Wash’s journey just takes him to the place of the final battle to not do anything, Tucker never gets a proper resolution and just gets told to not worry, just to mention a few. While I think in paper is a great finale and some of these moments hit really hard, the season just screams rushed development and lack of time, it wants to do more than any season of the chorus trilogy while being only half the runtime of said seasons, and is hard not to notice
