In a parallel universe I would be living in Saskatoon. I applied visa for Queensland Australia and Saskatchewan Canada at the same time 8 years ago, and did quite a bit of research for both of them. Finally Australia granted my visa earlier, so I end in Brisbane. Always interested in Saskatoon life.

I visited Saskatoon for 5 days over 25 years ago, I’ve always wanted to go back. My favorite was the trails along the river and the bridges, which of course it is famous for. I really liked the railroad bridge you can walk over, where you started. I’ve never been to Regina but I think Saskatoon probably is the best city in Saskatchewan - there’s not much competition in that province!

Originally grew up in the Wildwood neighborhood. Favourites in the city have always been the Meewasin Valley trail, Midtown Plaza, Broadway, the Forestry Farm, golfing - Holiday Park, the Willows, and Saskatoon West before the city gave it to the Saskatoon Golf and Country in exchange for latter's land to build south Circle Drive. Outside of the city, Beaver Creek and Pike Lake. A little trivia, the Land Titles building was one of the filming locations in the Disney TV movie "I Downloaded a Ghost".

I live in Saskatoon, and have my whole life... and I will tell you the one thing it has going for it is the scenery... there wasn't alot shown in this video. Just ride spadina all the way down the riverside.. it's beautiful! Other than that, crime is progressively getting worse, homelessness is out of control, alot of the people here are very superficial and have that white collar attitude, and winter is extremely cold and DRY. The dry is worse than the cold. On the other hand, YES there is a tonne of things to do in summer, and the really cold winters do make a person appreciate summer more. It is also extremely expensive here, but I'm guessing that's everywhere in canada now so maybe it's irrelevant. I can't really speak for other cities, but I'm sure there are MUCH better places to live in Canada. All I know is, TRUDEAU NEEDS TO GO!

My wife is from Saskatoon and we used to visit her parents twice a year for many years. They passed on and we don't get back there much but I was always impressed with that city. However, I have a cousin in Regina and he gets annoyed if you try to maintain Saskatoon is a better city. I don't think he will see this post so let me say, Alec, (my cousin), Saskatoon is nicer than Regina. We've been on that railway bridge with our kids, lovely spot.

Saskatoon is my preferred stopping point in Saskatchewan on my trips between Manitoba and. Alberta. It used to have a vibrant live music club scene that was better in my opinion than larger Western Canadian centres. I believe this was cause it had that University town vibe. Sadly live music clubs just aren't that much of a thing anywhere. On the rare occasions that I spent week in toon town I liked it's vibe, and had some great meals there. I'm not as familiar with restaurants as you and your dad are, nor am I as adventurous a foodie as you, but some of those places I'd give a try if I had the right guide to suggest going to same. I like this perfect 24 Hrs in Saskatoon, but 24 Hrs with Alina, is probably perfect anywhere and everywhere.
