I photographed Sass for one of her album covers 20 years ago and she was an absolute doll. So much fun, so down to earth. I asked her what tone she wanted in the shots and she replied "Just make me look hot". I replied, "that won't be a problem".

I saw Sass Jordan in a bar in western Canada in the 90s, and I paid a $8 cover charge to get in to see her - that was it. She had already put out her greatest albums at that time and could have charged 5 to 8 times that. She was 100% on her game and never missed a note. It was probably the best live show I've ever seen.

Taylor Hawkins broke several bass-drum foot-pedal plates at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. I think it must have been one of his first shows with Sass Jordan years ago. During the show the tour manager (or Manager) asked me if he could borrow mine sins they run out of pedals, I was doing support act hanging around for the soundcheck. They rehearsed all afternoon and I felt sorry for Mr Hawkins sins the Guitar player was stopping every song, pointing at Taylor that he wasn't playing it the right way. Also recording everything and listening back to it every time something wasn't played right. That tells you how professional Mr Hawkins is and why he is up there with the big boys. After ours of (in my opinion) humiliating treatment by the guitar player he played his ass off during the show and did an amazing drum solo. I think after the 10'th time stopping the song in the middle I would have done the Ginger Baker thing and hit the Guitar player on the nose. I got my pedal back intact.

Back in the mid 90s just after rehearsal one night someone said Sass Jordan is playing the Stone Pony tonight. The other guitarist and i drove down to see if tickets were still available. We pulled up front, i git out n walked up to the door. The door guy was talking to a hot chick outside. I asked him if tickets were available for tonights show. He said yeah. The hot chick said you should come. I ran back to the car n said dude we can get in. When we went to park he said Sass looked pretty good. I said that was her?
