Circa 1989: My son (age 4 yrs) had a LOT of ear troubles! I took him into a general practitioner (rural area, only doctor available where I lived) and he used an actual "Water Pic" dental appliance to clean out my son's ears! He got a LOT of stuff out with that!

Jesus Christ. Those things shoot out water HARD. That could've perforated the eardrum. There's a product called the "Elephant Ear Wash" that's a much gentler way to irrigate (or should I say, EARigate harharhar)

Lol, Taylor…my husband is a pediatrician and has a really lovely, expensive, stethoscope which he has left at home, turned around to retrieve several times during his career. He used to have a preferred otoscope as well, but now the clinic requires everyone to use a wall mounted otoscope, and not because he forgot his a few times 😜. Ooh, love a good skin ribbon. Thanks guys!

“Dry as a chip”😂 also irrigation sucks. Had it done once and it hurt so bad! Is it normally like that? Like it felt really really painful. And I’m not one to complain about pain, but that one I did.
@terriwetz6077
Жыл бұрын
The US standard irrigation is done using a lot of water pressure which is harmful and painful bcs it can actually push the wax deeper into the ear. The new method Rhys has learned is a gentler, swirling action as he'd described a few days ago. Would love to see it!

My other half has had it and it's worked well for him. I just refuse. Would you still offer the endoscope or would you just go for irrigated only? That skin ribbon is my favourite.

In 2001 I became symptomatic with Geniculate Neuralgia- deep ice pick stabbing pain in both ears, 24/7/365. I existed with that pain constantly for 4 years. My 52nd specialist consult was with the neurosurgeon that developed MVD surgery. I wonder if you have seen your patients develop ear diseases including cranial nerves disorders the ear? If someone tells me they have an ear ache or ear wax and are complaining I just walk away. They have no idea how lucky they are.

It’s a shame that the ribbons of skin can’t be used for something. I know it’s dead skin but it would be awesome if it could be used in skin grafts. I know that’s very simplistic as it’s dead skin. But finding a way to energise it back to living skin would be magic.

Yes, Please make a video on the levage that you are using as we have seen a few of the results, but there is obviously confusion about the system you are trained on and how it works. In the US when we go to our GP and complain the "levage" we use is a kidney bowl under our ear and a squirt bottle of water and this may get a slight bit, like two or three pieces of wax the size of sprinkles out of the ear, but it does very little and there is not any making sure that the ear is clear afterward, just simply a "is it still bothering you?" then you can use drops or go to ENT, but that will take about 6 mo or more. US Levage method = Kidney bowl held below ear and Squirt bottle filled with water.
