Sarami, a well-known name in women's MMA and in Japanese MMA, is a 24-year old with a deceiving record of 3-5. She started her professional MMA career just two years ago, after
Being in the women's divisions in Japan isn't easy; Sarami has been handed the toughest opponents before she herself hit the double digits. Her first opponent, Yukiko Seki, had over thirty fights. Beating her meant she was in line for Yasuko Tamada, a ten-year veteran of the sport, and Naho Sugiyama, both of whom have gone on to fight in Invicta.
Sarami has aspirations to join them in the premier women's MMA promotion. She even goes further by saying her goal is to make it to the UFC. While she has dropped her last three fights, they were to Japan's cream of the crop, and she reflects on what she took away from each of them. In her most recent DEEP Jewels bout against stand out grappler Mina Kurobe, Sarami learned that she needs to keep control of where the fight goes in order to win.
She also stated that her fight with Sugirock was her favorite and why. Sarami's reason for this is very interesting, and it plays into the fact hat she wants to be known as an MMA all-rounder, and not just a grappler.
