Interesting mash-up, the expedition part was done in Alfresco (-Enfield and +Coltrane) and the defective senses bit was later redone in A Bit of Fry And Laurie. Surprisingly good version.

I'm sorry to have to inform Mr John (or is it Elton?) but far from his idea being unprecedented, I have not gone to the Antarctic long before he thought of not going. Come to think of it, so did my next-door neighbour Mrs McAlaistair not go to the Antarctic, and she's 93 next month. Intrepid pioneers? Pshaw! I don't think so!
