As for the gravy it’s easier to fry the sausage up then add the flour right in the sausage. Let it cook for a few minutes then add your milk and stir and season

If you have a self cleaning oven, try putting your cast-iron in there when cleaning your oven depending on how much gunk is in your cast-iron you can adjust how long you want to clean your oven but it takes all that old grease and or rust off and then you can re-season it several times it and it’s just like magic!

Corrie some other time, you could take thar remainong dough and just slim cut it down spread it out over the counter to air dry, then later on flip them to dry a bit more. Then mid day toss some chicken thighs to boil when the meat falls off the bone pull out the bones let it get up to a rolling boil add in the noodles when you get it to a rolling bpil . . . Chx and dumplins for supper. Granny liikely can talk you through it.

Grape seed oil is only oil my husband uses for seasoning his cast iron, it has a high smoke point, and he uses a brush or a paper towel to apply a small amount then place the pan upside down with the heat on 400 degrees for one hour after that take the pan out and reseason while hot using small amount , cool pan. He does such a good job redoing cast iron, they look new again

I hope you do another one similar to this, using your CAST IRON and then FILM exactly how YOUR family cleans up the cast iron. My Mamaw always washed hers (I know, that's foul language for some folks. 🤣🍳) My Aunt Betty, who was a clean freak, NEVER washed cast iron. Mamaw stuck hers in the dishWATER for a quick rinse, like every other dish. 🤔The seasoning on BOTH of their cornbread skillets was perfect, nothing ever stuck! I'm still struggling with how to know when my pan is HOT ENOUGH to prevent stickin' cornbread, without smokin' us out of the kitchen.🤣🤦🏼♀️🤣🎻HELP!

Someone else may have already mentioned this, but Ruthann Zimmerman‘s channel did a tutorial on exactly what Austin did to your cast-iron. The modern cast-iron from the store is not smooth enough and grinding it down is exactly what you need to do. I appreciate your channel very much!
