Oh he is human, but his mentality to playing live is: "if my whole body doesn't hurt after a gig... I didn't give it my all. And I always give 120% live" (he actually said that in an interview) It's just professionalism in it's purest form and it's part of what makes him fucking amazing. Both behind the drums and in general as a person.

The most compelling thing about this song performance is that when this track was released, black metal artists were stigmatized as murderers and arsonists; members of the orchestra were perhaps among them. Now many years later they have found themselves sharing a stage with those they held prejudice against and performing music that was not accepted at the time of its release.

You can hear and feel it, when Frost is doing what he is here for!!! First heard Satyricon i 2002. Watching this video let me feel a very strong nastalgic feeling. Actually he's not really keeping tempo all that much. He just goes "Bitch fuck it, I'm fucking FROST!" and speeds up and all the orchestra basically has to just speed up along with him to keep up. Not even sure it was intentional but it kinda works.

I absolutely love it! This is the mother of all black metal songs in my books. This is the first time I heard this opera version, but the second time I shed a tear for it. First time was the first time I saw it live, obviously.

I remember one of my first concerts was Satyricon. While we enjoyed the whole show, my friends and me shouted ourselves hoarse to get Them to sing Mother North. They finally did, as an encore. Great time were had. /Storytime
