It was hailed by Saudi Arabia as the future of urban living. A city, in the middle of the desert, would stretch for more than a 100 kilometers, and it wouldn't need cars or roads for the expected nine million residents. Dubbed the Line, it was part of a bigger development plan, worth five-hundred billion dollars. While construction has started, the project is facing some setbacks. And the Saudis are hoping to woo some new investors, including from China.
