As I continue to watch your videos of these abandoned churches/graveyards they almost have become archeological sites as they tell the stories of the people who lived and worshiped at these sites and even the architecture of the churches describes an entire culture. For those of us who love history these are just priceless.

Hi Sue! Some ankle-threatening terrain in that one so I'm glad you came through it unscathed. The sheep have a fine view there. The brambles remind me of the blackberries in the Adelaide Hills here. They're an introduced invasive species and they've made some areas almost inaccessible. The church's doorway (Norman style, I think) was worth going to see in itself. 🇦🇺 🇮🇪
@SerenitySueGraveyards

I loved the doorway so nice, ahh those brambles are horrible, in September they will be full of gorgeous blackberries, people still pick them here at side of roads for homemade jam ❤
@lakefromeshippingcompany
2 жыл бұрын
@@SerenitySueGraveyards I think blackberry was introduced here as a form of hedging before it got out of control. I haven't heard of anyone here picking the wild fruit (which is not to say that no-one does) but I've had some painful experiences of stumbling into blackberry thickets in the scrub in my wanderings. 🇦🇺 🇮🇪
