It looks like there's a bug in Power Automate for me. When I try creating a checklist, the "Is Checked" input doesn't give me a Yes/No drop down. Instead it only lets me add function/dynamic content. Of course when I save Power Automate throws an error saying the input is expecting a boolean. Any ideas how to get around this bug?

I just answered my own question. Typing in "false" instead of "No" solves the problem.

@@slinnky Although this did let me save and run a test without showing errors, the test run failed (even though the task does get created - there is no checklist)

Thank you for your help, Scott. I had an issue selecting "no" on the checklist. The solution is to revert to the old version, which has a dropdown for "yes" and "no." Thanks again.

It would be nice if there was way to dynamically set "In Progress" on the Progress status if we wanted to.

When using Power Automate to create a Flow from Forms to Planner I am trying to get some information from the Form to appear in the "New Task" that it creates. I am trying to use the Update Task Details. I cannot get the correct parameters. Can someone please help with this flow

Would love creative ways to practically automate in OneNote. Does Power Automate work with Loop yet?

I'll have a look and see what's possible in OneNote with Power Automate 😀. In terms of Loop, it's really it's own architecture right now, and therefore there's no integration yet with Power Automate. Although I think Loop works well, when you need to create some content in one app and then effectively copy it into app, for review or use, without the need to re-create it too.

Hello. Great content! Is there a way to use a list of dates from Excel for the start date and due date of the task?
@your365coach

Thanks for your question, and yes, it would need to be passed through in the correct format into Power Automate, but yes it's feasible to have that date copied from an Excel cell 😀

Do you have a video that shows you how to bulk upload an excel file with task, start, due date and who the task is assigned to? I am trying to do this for 300 task but I am coming into an issue where the start and due date and not transferring and some task are duplicating assigning to a different person from my excel sheet.

Sadly we don't have a video covering that topic, but maybe something we can record in the future. I would guess that your data from Excel is not in a Date format which Planner accepts, so I would just check the date formatting used in the table. It's odd that the task is duplicated, so again just check that your data is structured into an Excel Table (like I think we cover in this video) and then for each Row, you create a Task. For assignment, ensure you use e-mail addresses which I think can be separated by semicolons. This is because the e-mail address is what is used for assignment, rather than someone's name.

Could I do this by filling out a spreadsheet with all the task names and other details I want and then having Flow read through that instead of manually creating a step for every task I want created?
@your365coach

You certainly can do that - it would depend on your specific requirements, but if you had a Spreadsheet, you would list all your Tasks in a Table (you need to format your data as a Table in Excel), and then before you add the 'Create a Task' action, you could add an action to 'List Rows Present in Table' under Excel in Power Automate. You can point it to your Table, and then in the next option, you would get a 'For Each' and then you can simply add the same logic to Create a Task in Planner, and it will use each Row from your Table as the input to the Task. This article here show's a little about this: powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Looping-my-Power-Automate-flow-for-each-row-in-Excel-Online/m-p/2334623 Obviously, I would recommend testing this and reading up on how to do this before you dive in, but certainly it's possible to do, and get the data from Excel and run it to Planner.

Sorry - forgot to add that the free text in the check list section is not allowed. Is there a work around for this. Your video does exactly as i want, however will not let me add the data in as you have.

Can I just check if your using the new Power Automate Experience (it will look different to what I show in this video) and if so, maybe try with the older experience and see if it helps arashaghajani.com/blog/two-methods-to-switch-to-classic-designer-in-power-automate/

I'm trying to come up with a way to duplicate tasks from one Planner board to another based on some kind of trigger. I don't want all tasks to go to the second board, just selected ones. Is this possible? I'm wondering if I can use a label in some way for Automate to determine if a task should be copied or not.
@your365coach
8 ай бұрын
Yes that's a difficult one, as you would need some type of Trigger to then copy the Task into Planner which I don't think Planner supports as yet within Power Automate sadly

It would be nice to have tasks that were sharable with another teams planner. Imagine when creating the task you could keep adding more groups teams and buckets. My use case is that I have a training team where managers can discuss and generate buckets and tasks. Would be great to just spawn certain task subsets to some other team a trainer has with the trainees. Could even create a subset of tasks for each trainee such as watching sets of videos.

How can you add it so it due date is always the last working day of the month

Sadly, this would not be something easy to achieve within Power Automate. However, there is a 3rd Party Blog Post below which does cover this scenario, which may help, however I have not tried this to confirm if it works 😉 www.madaboutbc.com/2023/04/24/perform-an-action-on-last-work-day-of-the-month-with-power-automate/#:~:text=If%20the%20day%20of%20the,%2DMM%2Ddd').

try using the following as an expression, where 'Due Date' is the name of your column in Excel - addDays('1899-12-30',int(item()?['Due Date']),'yyyy-MM-ddThh:mm:ssZ')

When using Power Automate to output a description for a Planner card, is there a way I can have text display across multiple lines? Right now all my text is being outputted as a single line, which makes it hard to ready.
@your365coach
8 ай бұрын
Sadly, I don't know the answer to that one sorry. I did find an old MS Support Article from 2021, but not even Microsoft responded to it either. I think it could be that the output is being wrapped as a single line of text in the API call, but I think that is then by design sadly.
