Keybed disassembly of the Yamaha CS-80 was a little more involved than initially expected. This video covers keybed disassembly down to the sensors. The goal (and it was successful) is to restore the less than stellar response of the touch sensors using isopropyl alcohol to rejuvenate the worn conductive carbon surface of the actual sensor pads.
Working with a manufacturer right now to make a limited run of new aftertouch sensors, rubber "Y" fulcrum points and possible magnetic trigger switches to replace worn mechanicals to save two additional CS-80's I am working on. I hope to have enough parts made to offer in my later CS-80 restoration kits.
Video made from GoPro Hero 4 black with fisheye correction enabled.
Please stay tuned.
