Are there plans available for this saw bench?
@treebangham
4 жыл бұрын
Hi John, the only plans I have are full scale measured drawings I made on drafting vellum 36” wide by several feet long. I have no way to scan them. Here are the dimensions. All stock is 1 ¾” thick. The bench is 19 ¼” high. The top measures 8" x 32". The outer edges of the base legs are 5” in from the “birds beak” end of the top and 4” in from the other end of the top. All parts of the base are 3¼” wide. All tenons are ¾” thick. The long stretcher’s bottom edges are 4” from the floor. The short stretcher bottom edges are 8 ¾” from the floor. The splayed legs are on a 1:4 angle (about 14 degrees from vertical). Any other construction details can probably be gleaned from the videos. Of course, you can alter these dimensions to suit your needs. Please let me know if you have any questions. Best regards.

Yes Doug, that was quite the glue up. The longer working time with hide glue made all the difference.

That is a beautiful job. I think you are lucky your wife did not take the stool from you and hit you with it. Then that would have really been that. All the best.

The next project must show you using the saw bench, tool box. You create interest in previous vids by incorporating previous projects and putting click links on the current vid

Good idea, I'm sure the saw bench and the tool box will be appearing in future shows. Thanks.
