Hoffman made inescapable traps too. He did it simply because he wanted to kill people. None of his traps had any way of being escaped. So even if Strahm got into that box, you can fucking bet Hoffman had a way to kill him in it. It’s just like with Jill’s trap; no way out. He set a fake lock on the bear trap to get her hopes up right before it ripped her jaw into 1000 pieces.
@socialmoon

@@nightmare348 Agreed. Hoffman gave up on humanity after his sister was killed. Unlike Jigsaw, he wasn't interested in rehabilitating people. How could he be, when the legal system (which is supposed to rehabilitate offenders & bring them to justice) allowed his sister's killer to get off on a technicality? We see him dumping the unconscious drunk driver out of a wheelbarrow with no concern for the guy's safety. Imo, he does this because he's aware of the fact that the drunk driver essentially got away with the murder of a young boy, & so Hoffman has nothing but contempt for him, as well as being reminded of his own experience with justice failing. Jill's RBT is an interesting point. I didn't realise the lock on it was fake! I thought that he was getting payback for her attempt on his life, as well as tying up loose ends. While he could watch Strahm being pancaked, he visibly looked away when Jill was killed, despite both deaths being gruesome. Pretty sure he would have sexually assaulted her in that prison cell if she hadn't stabbed him, too.

Hello Agent Strahm, if you are hearing this then you have once again found what you are looking for, or so you think. Your dedication is to be commended. But I ask you, if you have learned anything on your journey of discovery. As the old adage goes, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." The situation you find yourself in is, but of trust, so I ask you Special Agent Strahm, have you learned to trust me? The only way to survive this room is by entering the glass box before you. Pain will be incurred, but you have a chance of survival. 2:26 However, if you choose not to, you will never be heard from again. Your body will never be found. You will simply vanish. I ask you, Special Agent Strahm, have you learned enough to trust me? Will you heed my warning? For if you do not, this room will forever be your tomb, and my legacy will become yours. Make your choice

The most important thing to remember when playing a jigsaw trap where you're allowed to have a gun is to save a bullet for yourself.
@davidjames1684
4 жыл бұрын
There is a "major" flaw in this trap. There is a gap between the "coffin" and the wall such that Strohm could have put the gun in one of those 2 holes and easily killed Hoffman. They have some type of hole in them cuz they allowed air to enter the "coffin" so a bullet should pass thru it too. Then he could have taken the gun and jammed it on the underside of the gears (since they are spinning upward). If the 2 sets of gears are on the same axle, then it should have jammed the mechanism and would have been an extra load for the walls to crush, perhaps enough to jam the walls from closing all the way and enough to save Strohm from death and possibly even from injury. Jigsaw "It leaves nothing to chance" (my ass).

Strahm likely could have shot Hoffman thru either of those 2 holes where the tubes were attached, then jammed his gun in the gears to prevent the "coffin" from lowering all the way. It may or may not have stopped the walls from closing all the way but at least then he would be assured of Hoffman dying too if it crushed everything. A 1 for 1 deal is better than a 0 for 1.
