Nice boards Dave. Thirty years ago I used yellow birch for an exterior door threshold and it has held up wonderfully. Most, if not all, log scales were developed for circular mills and their wider kerf cuts but it is still a good feeling to beat the scale!

I really hope your using metal detector on logs before you start cutting them , the last person i watched his videos he ate blade due to piece cable wire was grown in tree over time, thanks for reading my helpful hint 😊

Generally, I use the blade as the metal detector. It ALWAYS works; if there's no metal it tells me and if there IS metal it let's me know also.
