Nice idea. I hate plastic cord especially on weed whackers.

On mine i took that cap and used it to mark a 10" cross cut circular saw blade then mounted it. works great but i also have 12" to my guard so maybe a smaller one for your use

Just throwing this out there but have you ever seen the plastic straps they use on bundles of lumber? If you cut it and then split up the end it rips apart in strands. Cut those strands to length and those should work pretty good because the more grass it cuts the more the ends just split into little whips and doesn’t break short at least for a little bit longer than the regular ones

I use a weed eater with the aftermarket triblade head and pitch the plastic ones that come with it and make blades out out of heavy steel banding strap that gets cast out in steel yards. It works like a champ ,but you don't cut at the bottom, you lower it down on the weeds and chop them down fine. Just up n down , but saplings you have to let it saw through

That would probably work too. I would worry about it bending. This mower is much more powerful than a weed eater

@DirtyShopDIY the blades do bend but not snap, but cheap (free) and easily replaced , and for safeties sake i do often and make a stack of them and replace as a set . Bang for the buck is exceptional. Altough it is tuff on the weed eater and head
