Why this song alone, any number sung by Eddie Fisher was/is just grand. He could croon a lullaby or a ballad or a classic and come out trumps. The magic in his voice was the modulation. Now take a love song like "They say that falling in love is wonderful" [from Annie Get Your Gun], Howard Keel sings the song in typical Mario Lanza classical style, but what is required is a soft understanding voice with lots of love in it, with profound feeling and, here, Eddie with his modulation could ace the number. I don't know if he made a recording of this song, but if he did, I'm sure it must have been a humongous hit!
