"We're characters" he says, implying he knows it shouldn't bother him, but if it didn't, he wouldn't have to constantly assuage his ego to the audience. They're strangers on the internet, Wools. Stop caring if they think you're good at something; you make more money if you give them memes to brainlessly vomit anyway. No one manages not to look like a douche when they defend themselves against such things, so roll with it; it's hilarious if you want it to be.

It's weird, because I always assumed Woolie and Pat were the ones with the biggest emotional fortitude, but now I feel like Woolie just handles his shit a different way than from Matt and Liam by being kind of passive and indirect about it.

I mean, I get where he's coming from to an extent. Being in a position where there are literally thousands of people to scrutinize you at a given moment can be seen as stressful, but it's also an opportunity to see things about yourself you wouldn't normally -- whether you wanted to or not. This is in turn an opportunity to improve on things you weren't aware of beforehand, if you want it to be, or even an opportunity to realize you're doing fine. We're a species of egos and delusion, but we're at our best when we get over ourselves and take things the way they are, because it lets use all that effort we waste trying to protect our feelings to instead improve ourselves and make that protection unnecessary. Learning to focus on that instead -- and having a laugh during those times when we screw it up, because we're all guilty of hilarious gaffes -- just makes life easier, and sometimes I just wanna _shake the shit_ out of the big bastard while yelling that at him.
