Matt, some technical questions. 1) What are the added benefits of a 3v LED compared to a 6v or 12v LED? 2) Are these new Luminus LEDs more efficient or better than the CREE LEDs? 3) Are these single die Luminus LEDs better in the real world than the quad die CREE XHP LEDs? I have noticed that Luminus is really bringing out some very interesting LEDs lately. What do you think about them?

Hey Matt, I have a question that you might be able to answer me with all your high power flashlight experience. Would a flashlight lense break if it was cold outside with thick mist and then suddenly being turned on in turbo more for less than a minute?

No it wouldn't, those flashlight are used by people in all sorts of climates and no such thing has been reported on the forums that i'm aware of, especially with led flashlight that radiate less heat out the front compared to incandescent
@LuisAlbertoSerranoAlonso
4 жыл бұрын
@@rikard1414 I ask because it happened to my thrunite tc15. I live in Southern California, it wasn't snowing, however there was a lot of mist on a fairly cold morning, and just recently receiving my flashlight, I wanted to see how well it would light up with the neutral white color on turbo. The light was on for about 30 seconds and then turned it off. A bit later, I used it again to light up a spot on the ground where I was working and after I turned it off my friend pointed out the glass was broken, It was still cold and foggy but this time I left it on for about 60 seconds, the flashlight was extremely hot this time but I know I turned it off before the thermal protection or the power step down kicked in. I had not dropped the light even once so there was no other reason I can think of that would cause the glass to crack, no visible chip on the lense, just cracked across about 3/4 of the way across the middle

@Castle Bravohmmm that's something to think about, the light was brand new so what could have caused the glass to crack? There are no signs of impact where the crack starts, or anywhere on the flashlight for that matter... And I know it wasn't broken when I got it... I've always kept it in the holster since unboxing it and have not abused it in any way

Great video! Quick question. You stated you disabled the temperature sensor. Is that a hardware or software disable? As a EDC, I have a Nitecore TM-10K 10K lumen flashlight. I love this light because of the form factor and has a great flood dispersion. But because of the form factor, it’s very limited on cooling and battery capacity. With that said, how can I disable the timer on the turbo (10K lumen) mode and disable the temperature sensor? It always says ‘OVERHEAT’ on the display and I can only fire the turbo mode for 7 seconds. Thanks!

Hi Gman. Unfortunately no. That is what I have come to understand as being the "trade off" with Neils gadgets. All of the very best lights as soon as they come out. Super cheap prices, but zero communication. I still order from him, and also work with him because eventually every time I or anyone who has been willing to wait it out has always gotten product. Also on the major group buys at BLF (some of them thousands of lights) he has one of the best track records at addressing any warranty issues. The thing I always tell people is if you can stand to wait you will get your product. If for some reason you don't you can file a paypal claim up to 6 months after the order was placed :)

@@Lumencraft- Ok. Thank you very much for getting back to me about this. Last question... On the average, what is the possible wait time either for you or for customers stemming from any input? Thanks again.

@@gman8447 It mostly depends on if the lights are in stock. If it is a light that has been around a while and stock is readily available orders ship within a few days and arrive about 3-4 weeks later. On new roll out lights lead times can get pushed way out because of production time 4-8 weeks for delivery. The GT90 is one example of this. Saturday I posted a video because they were in stock. This morning I got up to a message form Neal that the entire lot sold out over the weekend (100 lights I think). Now because of a Chinese holiday it will be like Feb 12th before the next batch is ready, so I'm going to have to make another video tomorrow to let people know they can still order, but any new orders will be in the February run...

Hey Matt. I could use some help..... I am looking to get the brightest spotlight/flashlight (min. 1800 lumens) that lasts the longest without down stepping (min. hold ~60 mins.) for the best price (under $200) that allows me to recharge the light with a cable (rechargeable). I've been looking for a long time :( Advice? Thank you kindly for your help and especially videos.

Most of the lights I know of that can be plugged in and sustain 1800 lumen, and have long range cost more than $200. Imalent R90C being my first choice. If you start a thread at Budget light forum they will probly be able t o assist you better. If a light meeting that criteria exists they will know where to get it.

@@Lumencraft- thanks so much. I did a lot of research before you commented. I finally finished I put together a spreadsheet using the reviews on that site! I'm at a crossroads now between the convoy L6, tn30 mini, used olight x7r, haeklite mt01, or acebeam Ec60! I know the L6 and most others don't have integrated charging but man those things pump out and sustain some good light for a great price. I threw them in anyway with the acebeam so I can see the difference in price/lumens. Thanks for your great videos and for responding! Now if I could just freaking decide 🤔😔
