Great video.....First time I went up Scarfell Pike was over 50 years ago whilst on a Outward course back in 1970s, we climbed Scarfell 4x in three weeks not to mention just about every other mountain in the Lakes but it sowed a seed for the great outdoors which has stayed with me all my life, we have two grown up sons that I carried them up until they could do it themselves often reaching the summit at sunrise holding a union jack .... I love this beautiful place......Thank-you for sharing your adventure with us and God bless your mum Helen x

Another fantastic video, thank you! I am a Yorkshireman in my 50's and have been living in Cornwall for 27 years, but the lakes are my favourite place. I hiked up Helvellyn alone in the winter of 2002 when all the mountains were snow covered. It was amazing. I have taken my Cornish partner and kids there a few times and they love it too. I went on several school trips in the 80's and always stayed at Patterdale YHA. These were the best times of my life. I also used to ride up there many times in the summer on my motorbike with friends in the 90's.

I was half expecting you to bump into Henry Turner, because he's up in them hills all the time. I told him I'd never be up there because these legs wouldn't be able to cope these days, its taken me years to learn to walk again, thanks to the National Homicide Service. I used to fly and jump about all over the place in my youth. I used to climb escalators three treds at a time but now I need a safety net to negotiate a curb. I've fallen out of locomotives and I once fell out of my brake van while propelling my train up to Outybridge. No injuries whatsoever, but now I can't keep my footing since compression treatment. Innit grim.

I don't mean to offend, James, but I can't help but see a striking resemblance between your lovely lady, Helen and Walter Huston's character in the classic film "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" from 1948. In the film, Curtain played by Tim Holt says to Dobbs, played by Humphrey Bogart, "Remember what you said back in Tampico about having to pack that old man on our backs?" Both panting: Dobbs, "That was when I took him for an ordinary human being not part goat." Dobbs, "Look at him climb, will you?" The scene switches to Walter Huston, with a smile on his face climbing up the mountain. Curtain, "What gets me is how he can go all day in the sun without any water." Dobbs, "Maybe he's part camel, too."

Hi James and Helen really loving your videos, just wondering if your free on the bank holiday weekend 25th - 28th August you might like to consider coming to Lincoln for the Steam punk extravaganza its absolutely amazing and would make a great video with your amazing take on things, people come from all over the world to attend, you could stealth camp at a pub called the Pyewipe inn it’s near the river and serves good food just outside the city, and you could then visit Oakleys cafe on Saturday for the most amazing breakfast it’s number one on trip advisor, and Anna the owner is just incredible, you will need to book though, please give it some consideration, and keep up the great videos.
