If you're going to do crazy shit like this you should at least carry a gun for personal defense, especially when running into a psychopath like in the last section of this video. Other people you encounter in these places that would hide alone in a dark abandoned building are either crazy, on drugs, or hiding from the police/gang members and should be considered extremely dangerous.

Imagine how vulnerable and frightened the homeless people in those buildings must feel. It's kinda sad to put the "creepy" label on them. If I was homeless and trying to sleep in those places, I'd certainly feel nervous with some random dudes walking around in the middle of the night talking to themselves. I'm not surprised some of them will hide or take a quick peek to see what the f is going on.

It's crazy, I had a few brief homeless moments. One time I slept in a picnic pagoda at a state park that wasn't open yet, miles outside of civilzation. Heard some guy literally howling at the moon in a language I didn't recognize. He ended up walking right past me, so close that I could've reached out & touch him. Our eyes met, he kept on walking but quit howling. Scared the shit outta me, cuz I had no idea where he was after he went quiet. I packed up quickly & headed back into town. Being homeless makes you an easy target, & there's no telling how long, if at all, that you will be searched for if you disappear. Not the only instance I had, felt like I was being hunted on another occasion.

Back in the days of harder times, I would wander around the city and venture into any abandoned building to get away from the cold or the rain. These explorer types were both annoying and fun to mess with. It's annoying when you're trying to sleep and some people just walk in searching for ghosts. A group of other waywards that I would sometimes hang around would get a real kick out of just messing with the urban explorers types. It was like their version of TV. They would often write crazy statements on the wall, make banging noises and even leave booby traps around. I recall one time I was napping on my cot in the back room of an abandoned office building and heard these guys coming in. Based on what I could hear them say, they sounded like they were like high school jock types. Overuse of the words of "dude bro". Anyway, I wasn't in the mood to entertain guests, so I just let out a primal shriek, and the dudes fled screaming. I had a chuckle and went back to sleep.

The shadowy figure actually starts around 9:14. Then he backtracks & slows it down so you can see it better. When he gets to the bottom of the stairs look toward the right upper side & you can see a person standing there all dark in shadow. Hope that helps :)

Upper right is the post for handrail. Post with ball on top? FDS I could not find it either.

Yes it’s right past the post for the handrail. I mean right next to it. It’s a black figure standing up right next to the post. At one point it blends in with the post.

Ah I saw that actually, but wasn't sure that's what he was talking about, I'm not sure if that's a person or some objects in the shadows that look like the shape of a person. If it was a person why would they linger around that long when he comes back down the stairs?

Last one is terrifying. I bet that dude carried a gun with him when he left the house after that. He was totally at that hillbilly’s mercy. He could have done anything. What a weird video. Don’t go exploring without a weapon. 😂

As a fellow KC area native, what Jared dealt with was, unfortunately actually one of the more sane and reasonable people out there. The city proper is pretty typical but some of these dudes on the outskirts think they're playing Hatfields and McCoys and that homeless person is a threat on their personal freedoms

So many of these urban explorers yell "HELLO" when they hear something. I don't know if that's the standard operating for the community, but I'd be doing the exact opposite.

I've stopped urban exploring about 5 years ago, too many people started to film everything and put it on youtube, security really ramped up on many places. Also despite being in Canada, I would not never go without protection from things you may encounter. Never know if you're going to encounter mold, asbestos, wild animals, unfriendly people. The last video scares me as our group encountered something like that, lucky the individual only had large knife and we were a group of 3 people and had something that gave us the advantage. Lucky the situation was diffused using words, but it still shook me. Stay safe out there.

We live in times when common sense (man walking with no gun), is offensive, and nonsensical, (man walking shooting a gun), is commonplace. The lunatics are running the asylum for sure.

I can't believe someone would shoot people who are trespassing on their property. Just because a place looks abandoned doesn't mean someone doesn't still own it, and also doesn't mean that you're free to explore with no repercussions.

Is that creepy guy with the gun at the end of this video really does need to get put a jail. Because it might be a small community the might be too lenient with him cuz they probably knew him when he was younger. That man should have been put in jail overnight to put through mental health check or something

I can totally believe that Connor didn't notice the things he caught on camera, the amount of times I have seen people looking straight at a thing yet can't find it (myself included) is... well... a lot there's also the fact that he could have just been looking in a different direction the camera was pointing at, making those sightings all the more terrifying

Honestly, if the guy in the last ran away the guy probably wasn't gonna shoot at him because even in Texas you can't legally shoot someone in the back and justify it as self-defense if they're retreating away from you. I don't think you can't even shoot a trespasser unless they post an immediate threat to your life. Like I get it if the guy was protecting his property but commonly it's abandoned there is no need for the guy to come out with a loaded shotgun and handcuff the explorer or call the cops. Just escort the guy off the property and tell him to get a loss

Yeah, I think the dude was just looking for an excuse to shoot someone. He answered him and didn’t run so he couldn’t justify shooting his shotgun

Nah. He probably would have shot at him. But since he more than likely had birdshot loaded, even a moderate distance would have kept the explorer safe.

1.) A private person is not allowed to put on handcuffs on people 2.) Just because someone is trespassing on your property doesn't allow you to use lethal force. Doesn't matter what you write on some random ass wall. You can't kill people when they are not a threat to you and you can DEFINITELY not shoot someone when they are running. Someone setting foot on your property is not a license to gun someone down. If you do that you'll spend the rest of your life in prison for 1st degree murder.
