$14 bucks for a terror ride! Going under water. Yikes. My luck it would get hit with a ship or burst a leak or something. LOL. The engineering is pretty amazing though. Fun to see from the comforts of my home. Haha. Thanks for the tour. Have a great day.

Back in the 80's my husband used to drive his old Pinto through that tunnel towards the dry dock ship yards. His clutch was going out and he used to get anxiety going up the hill to get out with his car barely inching along, transmission at full blast. To break down in there would cause an apocalyptic traffic jam. Good times.
@HappyPlaceCamping

Oh my gosh. I would have totally stressed that too! I had a pinto as a teenager. Mine was a stick also. It would die a lot and then not start and have to be push started. Old cheap cars made for some interesting memories 😂

Worse for an 18 wheeler They can weight up to 80,000 pounds. So that bridge gaurd rail will stop a car, But not a 18 wheeler. It will punch through it easy. Yikes. Ya better have a load of life vests in the trailer!

I saw a movie once where people were trapped in a tunnel. Which the thought of being trapped freaks me out. And the thought of a bridge collapsing and falling into the water being trapped in my car freaks me out too! Let’s face it! I have an irrational fear of being trapped 😬🤷🏻♀️😂
@HoneyandMe
5 ай бұрын
My irrational fear is being in deep water. I tried water skiing once (ocean) and when I wiped out and was left treading water until the boat came back for me, it was all I could do not to have a full blown panic attack! Never again! I’m fine in a boat, and have overcome the fear of falling off my SUP by NEVER falling off, lol! But swimming in deep water!! Forget it! Weird how we form these phobias.

Holy cow I was freaking out for yous. The bridge goes on forever and then two tunnels under water. That was very intense. The walls just out of the tunnel were so high up and all I could think is I really hope no one is texting in that area or in the tunnel. No flat tires, no car stalling and well I am sure you thought about all of that. It was cool to experience but wow so scary !!!

The Lincoln Tunnel into NYC is $14.75 and the GW Bridge is $16 bucks. Imagine commuting to work by car daily. Geez. I always liked bridges and tunnels as a kid. Of course, after what happened in Baltimore it can something to think about.

In a car That's not scary....what IS scary is the 1st time you drive into that tunnel in a 18 WHEELER that takes up the whole lane. And almost the hight of the bridge. You are the square peg truck barley fitting into the square tunnel entrance hole....while ANOTHER 18 wheeler is coming out of the tunnel the opposite way. Should be called " the hold that sucker still tunnel. And the sea gulls were flying right in front of my windshield following The the bridge. Ya get to the other side and ya do your pirate sailer in the crows nest impression: LAND HOOOOE!!
