The schizophrenia one is scary as hell. Imagine one day starting to listening those hellish voices.
@nathanbarnes3969
11 ай бұрын
That is just what the voices sound like on a day to day basis, when you’re reasonably well. No amount of treatment or therapy can make them seem normal. When you are very ill, or not taking your medication, the voices are much more terrifying. You can clearly hear speech, they degrade you, make you paranoid of everyone, tell you people are trying to kill you, and sometimes even encourage you to kill yourself. Talking from experience I’m not making it up.

The Shirley Ledford torture and murder recording is one of the most depraved things on tape. Shakes my very morals to their core. Got me thinking that maybe revenge torture could be justified in rare instances. I know it's not true but it crossed my mind and I feel dirty about it.
@Valiyus
11 ай бұрын
When it comes to pain inflicted on others and it's not justified in any way I don't really feel bad for those thoughts. They went out of their way to not only hurt and ruin their lives but they did so because they were bored or wanted entertainment. There is no necessity to the horrors they inflict. Now, if it's other things like stealing or accidental hurting someone type of stuff I'm really lenient but I have zero compassion for those that desire to hurt others, ESPECIALLY when they take it that far. It may not make the world better but in my eyes it's justice and it's provided back what you did to someone else, perhaps they can experience it themselves. The issue really comes of not falling into depravity yourself.

I have a story like that! During the fall two or three years ago every now and then we’d hear this crazy loud barking/howling sound at night. It sounded occasionally something like a coyote or occasionally something like a dog but also was very clearly neither one and was just SO loud. This was in the middle of a very rural wooded area with nobody else around for miles. And also unlike a coyote or a dog, it could go on bellowing for a long time but not one time did anything ever call back in response, it was always alone. Never heard anything like it before or since.

Outside of the court room, the only times it has ever been played has been to the agents in the FBI upon joining the Behavioral Sciences unit. It isn't online and the only copy(s)to exist is in Quantico, VA. This we all should be thankful for, even if those of us who are desensitized are curious and feel they can handle it. Some context first . . .I'm what's referred to as a "Cold Warrior". I served in the military during the Cold War, specifically the end years. While on base/post they would test the emergency sirens once a week at the same day and time. Even when you were sure it was a test, you still waited, listening to see if the tone fell, or continued past the few seconds for the test. I as an Air Force weather observer. I was stationed at a couple high risk bases. One because it was was a missile base and the other because it had the longest runway between the Iron Curtain and Rhein-Main AB in [West] Germany. So either case the siren meant something. If it was a steady tone, I would be heading to the weather station to help out because things would be hopping. If it was a warbling tone . . . I would either be donning on my combat gear getting ready to deploy or bending over kissing my ass goodbye. A couple years ago, I was listening to our local HD Radio station playing classic music from the 80s (X96 Classic - it has an app!). I was just doing some writing and I heard that tone coming over the radio... the warbling radio . . . I froze. It then cut out to an orchestral riff... the intro to the 12" version of "Two Tribes" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. I was relieved, but surprised that after so long I would still have a visceral reaction.

Just a little information about the PASS devices referenced in the vid. All new airpacks come with a PASS device within the pack itself, and can be directly interacted with through the packs interface. Every modern day firefighter has immediate access to this device. Its good to mention that every device a firefighter has on them comes from either a tragedy or just research. Looking into many videos including MAYDAYS, which are the situations upon which a firefighter finds themself trapped and unable to escape, or are injured, a call over the radio is made while activating their device. Ive been fortunate enough to have not yet experienced a real world mayday, but in training that noise is haunting, just as much as is it loud and disorienting. The fear that seemlessly innocent noise creates still unnerves me to this day.

I was in psychology class in college and my professor played the Jim Jones tapes. All those babies crying from what the cyanide was doing to them, and their parents were begging Jones and his men to spare their children but he wouldn't. There were also gunshots heard in the background from people who refused to take the cyanide and were shot for their refusal. I shared this class with some of our school's toughest athletes. One was an enormous linebacker on our football team who took a cleat to the face and didn't even tear up. He heard this tape and had his face against his desk audibly sobbing. There were other classmates who up and had to leave and take a personal day. There's no forgetting that. I'm glad you didn't play the last recording. Just the description of them hitting her with a hammer in the same spot on the elbow was more than enough. I would have had to not play that one if that recording had been here. I can't even. I hope they never ever release that, they should just burn that recording entirely.

the schizophrenia one is always interesting to me, it's just a display of 1 type as Schizophrenia isn't always bad, there are people who go undiagnosed for many years because their voices, delusions and hallucinations are positive so they never get in the situation to find out, it's only when they actually have medical checks for other things that its detected. Away from that, the negative voices that is in that clip is so on point for depression and anxiety as well, so if you think that audio clip is bad just realise this is also running through the minds of people suffering with depression and anxiety which is why we struggle so bad.

the scariest thing on the kool aid part is that in the actual recording, you can hear how everything goes silent over time as the ppl die, just leaving the background music, I still don't understand how nobody did nothing to stop him from doing that.

In regards to the last one (the Toolbox Killers' audio tape), I was actually able to hear Shirley scream briefly when people started storming out of the court room at around 17:51. I knew about it beforehand due to actor Scott Glenn having had to listen to it as research for his character in Silence of the Lambs (which tbh is a bit of a dick move in hindsight since it led to him not returning for Red Dragon), but I honestly thought until now that it was just media and the FBI playing up the horrors of the tape but man. I guess I was wrong.

Has anybody listened to 666 by Paleface? It's an intro track to their most recent album and it features an audio recording of a fan of the band who suffers from schizoaffective disorder, which the fan describes to be a combination of schizophrenia and mood disorder. He submitted the recording to the band to spread awareness on it, and I think that's one that can make it into this list. I unfortunately can't recall if the raw audio was ever uploaded on the guy's channel, so I'm mentioning the band's material instead.

1:32 @MRSLAV what your referring to is the Hi-Lo Wailing Siren, not the Wailing siren. The normal wailing is loud to quiet. While the Hi-Lo Wailing siren (which is featured in the video) has a High tone to a Low tone, while going from loud to quiet.

Scariest sound I ever heard... Well, 3 years ago, I was falling asleep in my bed. Then... I heard some sort of loud yell that stopped after around 5 seconds. I opened my eyes and I laying on the kitchen floor and the lights were off. I heard some heavy footsteps. I crawled all the way back to the bedroom. That was when I saw trough my Mom's eyes. My parents were sleeping. Dad didn't wake up. Mom did. I saw myself trough my Mom's eyes. I was opening the bedroom door. I saw myself touching my chest. Then I could see with my eyes again. That's the end. That was the scariest thing I have ever heard in my life.

That's pretty Trippy dude. I got a creepy one different from that. My first day visiting my parents in Alaska after being gone for 6 years. Was sleeping in my old room. Had kind of a nightmare of a demon grabbing my ankles and pulling me into the closet. The scary part is I woke up ran to the door. Woke up again ran to the door and opened it. Woke up again ran out the door to the bottom of the stairs! Then woke up again for the 4th time and sprinted upstairs! I am a grown man and nothing really scares me but that was one of the weirdest things that ever happened to me.

The audio record of the last moments of "Grizzly Man" Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend Amie Huguenard would most likely be right at home on the list of scariest recordings. About the Ledford record: Scott Glenn, who played Jack Crawford in The Silence Of The Lambs, heard some of it when preparing for the role. He met with John E. Douglas who gave him a tour in Quantico and the opportunity to listen to the record.
