@Evan Kidd Yeah, my English class finished it recently, the verbiage gets much better in the latter half of the book, but the first half could be terrible sometimes. My English teacher literally said something along the lines of "I love the story, but the wording is terrible".

for confused people Chillingworth investigates the identity of Pearl's father for the sole purpose of taking revenge. Adopting the attitude of a judge seeking truth and justice, he quickly becomes fiercely obsessed by his search into Dimmesdale's heart.

Same. The only thing I don't like about it is the same reason I hate reading classics: old English. They write in a way that makes the reader lose focus and makes the reader wonder what in the world they are talking about.

This is not a difficult story to follow. Why are so many of us are so stupid?
@solid_snake_fan2552
3 жыл бұрын
I mean, the reason for why so many people find the story "hard to follow" are probably saying that because they just generally don't like the book that much. A lot of people here are only here because they are obligated to for school, and naturally a lot of kids don't like reading books that they don't really enjoy, so therefore it makes it harder for them to follow. If you don't like doing something, and you are made to do it, obviously you will find it way more boring than if you did enjoy it.

@ladyrox7957

@@countryboylife9910 if you can't get through your head that some things that our current president has done and supported is BAD then I hope you clear your mind and take a second look. Any sane human being with integrity and morality would know what that man has conducted himself as is not befitting of a leader. Trump is a businessman and therefore he does things in service of his businesses, and even then, his tax returns show that he hasn't been that good of an American citizen. There is a lot of evidence to suggest that he is just not a good person and not fit to lead this country. And if you go and say Trump 2020 as your response for this then I will take this as you not doing your research on the current president on United States.
