I thought Matt Osborne portraying Doink as the "evil clown" was pretty scary as a kid. As a general rule i friggin hate clowns. But it wasn't what he did in the ring it was his facial expressions and STELLAR promo's that sold this character very well. I still feel a character like this would have a place in WWE today. It's a rather injustice that they didn't run character longer then they did. It was really a play on Stephen King's "IT" and Matt did a SUPER JOB with it. On top of that he was an EXCELLENT wrestler with an extensive amateur background. God rest his soul.

Legit. The scariest unintentional moment that just unsettles me is when Psycho Sid broke his legs jumping off of the top rope. Oh my god! Legs aren't made to bend that way or flop around like that. I'm also in the absolute minority here when I say that I LOVED The Boogeyman, and his feud with Booker T. was amazing with him popping out of crazy places. And Booker's reactions were always perfect. The sad thing was that Boogeyman was a character in WWE in the wrong time period to be "The Boogeyman". If he was around in the 80's, he would have fit in more. Sadly, fans at that point just didn't like gimmick wrestlers for some reason. I'm one of those fans for whom wrestling can't be too comic book. Super powers? Supernatural stuff? The goofier, and the more comic book the better. Sadly, at that point, in wrestling, it was all about, "We just want to see a wrestling match.", rather than some edited craziness. I'm the opposite. To this day, I want wrestling to be the most costumed superheros, and supervillains, that it can be. Boogeyman was just there during the wrong era. I loved Papa Shango too. My god. Shango and Boogeyman would have made a great tag team.

The King having the heart attack on Raw may actually be a good time to have one because he was able to get medical attention right away. I clearly remember Shango "Cursing" Warrior, and especially the scene when, whilst being interviewed by Mean Jean, the classic scene that saw the blackened goo suddenly run down Warriors face whilst talking. He looked dazed and confused, to the surprise of the audience and at home. Bang on the money were yer words about Jake and Macho. I recall that, on "Superstars" (?) at the time when showing that incident, there was a massive red X onscreen censoring out the snake feasting on Macho's arm, leaving it to my young imagination to decipher what was happening. Jake was incredible too, in selling the evilness of his deeds.

Anything with Undertaker’s Ministry character was pretty good, especially him putting Austin on that symbol and hanging Bossman at WrestleMania 15. And the time Austin got his revenge on Taker by putting him on the symbol and raised him above the ring, then Undertaker’s laughs demonically, it still gives me chills.Another scary moment was the Eddie Guerrero heart attack, I legit thought he was really having one and then JBL coming to pin him just played well with his heel character to take such a cheap win but at the same time I didn’t know if he pinned him out of confusion because he was trying to hurry and end the match. I actually thought is was real until recently considering Eddie died about a year later from a heart attack

An amazing video! A moment (or rather, series of moments) I found quite scary was John Cena's Firefly Funhouse Match with Bray Wyatt/The Fiend at Wrestlemania 36! It had a real Twin Peaks-esque sense of the otherworldly and having a hero of Cena's caliber placed in this dreamlike realm where he had no power or standing was a great move, in my opinion. Not perhaps a 'scary' moment but a very interesting one! :)

That Papa Shango vs Ultimate Warrior angle absolutely terrified me as a kid! It was to the point where I was afraid to go to a WWF show if Papa Shango was going to be on the card. Also the CM Punk thing you mentioned at the end brought to mind Road Warrior Hawk falling off the Titantron. Which has absolutely stuck with me. It's safe to say that for me, pro-wrestling absolutely kickstarted my love for horror. Seeing the Undertaker's career from the beginning, the previously mentioned Papa Shango, Matt Osbourne's Doink, Big Van Vader's entrances with the mastodon mask/helmet, Mankind... I could go on for a while lol. Not to mention the fact that I fell off with pro-wrestling pretty much as soon as Undertaker went the "American Badass" route only to be brought back to it recently after hearing about all the stuff with The Fiend character. From there, finding talents like Max The Impaler on the indie scene, Abadon in AEW, and all of Tommy End's stuff has really reignited my love for pro-wrestling! Pardon the small novel haha. But this is exactly the sort of subject that makes me excited about what's possible with wrestling. Great video!

This one is disturbing, more than anything. Back when DX was feuding with Rated RKO they had this bit in the storyline where DX left the building early so Ric Flair who’d had some tag team matches with them recently was left by himself. Orton and Edge ambushed him backstage and dragged his bloody body to the entrance and gave him a couple con-chair-to’s. The fact that he was an older man made it particularly disturbing. I feel like it never gets brought up but it turned Orton and Edge into the undisputed biggest heels in the company.

One that surprised me for not being on there? It was... NXT Takeover: R Evolution in 2014 if I recall. The first time we saw "The Demon" unleashed by Finn Balor. Now the bit itself isn't exactly a huge gimmick or something. He comes out to different music. Amazing sort of air brushed body paint on. Fog machines on. Different lighting. And he's crawling on all fours in this unusual sort of way. But everyone in the ring, the announcers, etc? They sold it well as I remember. Not some big, cartoony, over the top thing. But more in that Understated Diesel seeing himself in the Casket way. But I guess NXT wasn't counting or something.

The Cobra biting Macho Man is my personal number 1. I saw that when I was a kid, and I never forgot it. That was around the time my family would try to tell me wrestling was fake. I would tell them about this moment and be like “but how the heck was that fake??” Lol Another one that doesn’t get brought up much is when Crush turned on Macho Man in 93 or 94. He turns on him and gives him this beating. At one point, Bobby Heenan said “it looks like he knocked his teeth out!” And at that moment, it did! A couple of other Undertaker moments always stuck with me: 1. When Undertaker and Paul Bearer tried to embalm Steve Austin. Just the cold environment of the morgue and the subject matter got under my skin when I was younger, and still leaves a creepy feeling when watching back these days. It was also before Undertaker started doing the more theatrical sacrifices. The embalming felt more spur of the moment; more real, back then. 2. When Austin turned the tables on Undertaker and hung him from his own symbol, you see Stone Cold walking up the ramp, like he won the battle, but Undertaker's music plays and you can hear him cackling throughout the building while he rises up. It was like something out of The Exorcist. But the scariest moment of all... Michael Cole and Heidenreich... I will say no more. :x

I feel a follow up to this could be moments that traumatized fans. Seeing JR set on fire and Zach Gowen destroyed unnerved for as a child.

Papa Shango is easily one of my all time favorite heels, That character had so much potential but it just wasn't utilized to it's full full extent at the time, I still think he needed to have been booked stronger. Would be interested to know what Wrestling Bios Thinks of the Papa Shango 2.0 look that was unfortunately never realized. I would have loved to have seen that revised character given a chance in 1997-1998.

Nightmare fuel! I'm convinced that Wrestling Bios reads tv tropes.

For me it was when Stone Cold was strapped up at the entrance way onto Undertaker’s symbol during an episode of Raw. Never saw Austin get completely dominated and terrified in my life

I would say one of the scariest periods of wrestling was the Booty Mans run in WCW. It gives me the shivers when I think about it.

Kane's unmasking. I saw it on live TV and this was before DVR and being able to rewind. Now a days we can rewind to see he's clearly just got some soot on his face. But back then, it happened so fast! You didn't get a good look at him and the announcers sold it so well that I had no idea what I had just seen!

@Wrestling Bios Congrats on 250k Subscribers mate, also I thought the Scariest/Most Shocking Moments in WWE was Brock Lesnar Superplexing The Big Show off the top rope on SD back in 2003 and the ring collapsing under the heavy weight. Also, the segment on SmackDown with Undertaker and Teddy Long in the limo after Breaking Point 2019 was both scary and funny at the same time lol.
