Thank you! This is a great question! Do me a huge favor and ask this question on our forums as I'll have more room to give a more detailed response: community.pjmss.com/c/primavera-p6/6 I presume you are referring to, as a scheduler, what I would do when I first get to a new project. A few thoughts come to mind: 1.) Make sure your role is clearly defined and you know what is expected of you. What I mean by that is this - Were you hired to create a Baseline, gather progress, or review delays? Make sure you know what your role is before you begin doing any work as you might be off in the wrong direction putting your efforts into something that isn't what you're there to do. 2.) If it's a new project and you're wondering how to approach it from a planning standpoint - which is what I think your question was referring to - Gather basic project information: -What is the general building scope? 1 building, 2 buildings, 3 buildings? How many floors? How much sitework? Is there a tunnel? Just get a general sense of what is being built. -What's the Notice to Proceed Date? - What contractual milestones are there? More to add but would love for you to post the question on the forum!
