Today's video thumbnail was brought to you randomly by KZitem. Potatoes gonna potate. They're also pretty tasty! Yes of course I have lost my mind, I'm mentally ill, what did you expect? :D

Socializing is overrated! It causes me too much stress, and besides there’s nobody I actually like, nor do I care. I tried church, and it caused too much stress on me to the point that it was making everything worse, and now since I gave it up, I’m feeling so much better!

I’ve often wondered if I had Schizoid Personality Disorder and autism was falsely assigned. Apparently, even as a toddler, I’d like to play alone away from the other kids. But like you said, it might be both.

I mean playing alone that early in life is more likely to be autism. I was probably always a little odd, but I did play with other kids quite easily, even as I started to prefer my own company. The more intense withdrawal came in high school which is when personality disorders tend to solidify. That said, yes, you could have been born with autism and then developed schizoid on top.

Specialists having special interests in diagnoses they work with is so painfully accurate. I'm still arguing about my autism misdiagnosis, they're trying to convince me to keep it for some "benefits" that I never received. All I ever got from having an autism diagnosis is dismissal of my trauma... One thing I also noticed is that when a specialist is aware of my autism diagnosis, they're less careful about their facial expressions, as if they subconsciously believe I'm not able to notice anything when I actually pick up mood changes and subtext very easily. Anyway, your video about SPD is what brought me to this channel but don't feel obligated to talk about SPD, you're fun to listen to no matter the topic so make content that is enjoyable for you first!

Wow, that's exactly the sorta stuff that concerns me about this! Thanks for sharing. Having things dismissed really sucks, I actually tried to open up about the dissociation stuff I experience with my very first psychologist but I was nervous so I started off in a roundabout way and before I could finish she just said "everyone feels like that!" and didn't ask me anything else about it so I just shut up and kept it to myself for more than a decade. Similar story with the Schizoid which I think I talked about in that first SPD video. It makes it so hard to come forward again and finally get proper treatment. The thing about their facial expressions though, wowwwww...!! O_O; And thanks haha, I mean I guess sometimes I wonder if I should talk more about SPD since I'm one of the few who seems able to, but ehhhh I'm not the awareness activist type. I can't help but just go with whatever I wanna do at the time lol. Messing with people through my chaos is also just too amusing for me to stop hehe :D

I've also had an experience with a biased specialists. It was when I was younger and depressed and it was my first time seeing a psychologist. The guy had exclusively worked with autism before and clearly couldn't let go of an off-hand remark I made (hard to look people in the eye - yeah I was depressed and felt like a slimy worm) and interpreted other things I said differently from what my experience actually was. Very frustrating. The 2nd opinion guy thought I was schizoid and clearly understood me when I explained things to him and he had not specialized in schizoid personality disorder.. For some I think their personal interests and biases just completely take over and they can't see the forest for the trees are in the way

@@vedmaburuxova68 honestly I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are autistic spectrum themselves the way they're so hyperfocused on only seeing what they want to see and seemingly have no interest in any alternatives

Ive met one spd in real life and listened two on youtube (for over 20 hours). They all had in common extremelly good communication skills and very elaborate and well thought ideas. I wonder if its pure luck or if it has a solid explanation behind.

I mean if they didn't have good communication skills, would you have had the chance to listen to them speak? It could just be a sample bias.
