A lot of people talking about the obvious line, but just the way he hurriedly talks about how awesome the kids are, the unique, individual qualities that they possess, that their parents probably didn’t even realise. God, if more teachers could see that potential in more of their students. Cause some kids need that one person who encourages and believes in them, even if their own parents don’t. “They’re all just really cool kids, and if they were mine, I’d be so proud, and I am proud just to even know them.”

it really gets me the way characters' priorities are revealed under that kind of pressure. dewey saw the cop and realized instantly the jig was up, but instead of trying to weasel his way out of it in some way he just used what time he had to tell these parents how special their children are. because THAT is what became his priority over the course of the movie; helping these awesome kids shine. such a feel-good film. and then he fucking books it out of there when he realizes what he has accidentally implied, which, yeah, probably a good move.

You say that but this is a movie where you really say how you’d actually react. All they know rn is a man with a different name and not even an actual teacher where they were alone their kids for like a month or few weeks (don’t remember maybe more). In the end obviously eveyrthih was great and I WORSHIP this movie since I was a kid I’m not against Dewey 10000% in support of his character and Jackus Blackus. But again I could definitely understand parents being upset even ignoring his positive comments.

The kids and parents then huddled into the back of the classroom. He told them if they try anything funny they'll be next. The other cop checked on his partner, as he was kneeling down, dewy wrapped a guitar string around his neck and sawed off his head. Beheading him. He went to grab the other gun but Sara Silverman kicked it away. He grabbed a guitar and tried using it as a weapon.. To no avail. Freddy's dad grabbed the gun and pointed it at him. Dewy took his other guitar and ran. Years later to send a message to Freddy's dad, Dewy had freddy killed by running him over while he was riding his bike. Dewy has since built a meth empire specializing in the purest blue meth on the market. Anyone who crosses him, is dealt with.

I know that impersonating someone is illegal but at 3:39, Dewey admitted that he wasn’t a licensed substitute teacher. He could’ve been arrested if he had lied. But thankfully he told the truth. If you ever impersonate someone, do it on your own time and don’t do it in public. If you do, please be honest and admit who you really are.

Yeah and plus Dewey was gonna give that money he made from substituting to Ned anyway so he could pay his share of the rent, so he wouldn't have really stolen anything. But identity theft does somewhat fall under what he's already done regardless of if he had integrity and admitted to his mistakes
@streetspitzley66

@@elijahvigil7467 well he and Patty both had good points after the Parents night. Patty had the right to call the police because Dewey was unintentionally committing a crime by impersonating a teacher (which is illegal to impersonate anybody in public), and it could’ve put Ned‘s job at risk, and I would’ve done the same thing if my job was in jeopardy. And what Patty actually meant to say to Dewey was to, “Get A Job, not Get someone else’s job”. And Dewey also had a good point. He wasn’t gonna murder anybody and he should’ve said, “I was just trying to make money so I wouldn’t get evicted”. Cause even though Patty was kind of like a Karen towards Dewey and Ned, she is right about one thing which is true in real life. If you can’t pay your rent in a certain amount of time, you can be evicted.

Yeah, but the audience watched what he and the kids were doing, and how they looked up to him, and how he taught them to be themselves. So we know it was an innocent statement that came out wrong, because we got the context. The parents, on the other hand, had never met this guy and learned right after they met him that he was only pretending to be a substitute, complete with cops showing up. They had no context. Of course they would assume the worst. I mean, there aren’t a whole lot of reasons why an older guy would pretend to be a substitute teacher. In this movie, it was just to make money and then later form a band. But in real life, there are terrifying creeps who would absolutely do it to be near kids all day in an authority position. If I were one of those parents, I would have taken “touched” the wrong way too.

How could parents just take inspiration words so negatively and take it the wrong way? Kids want to be touched by inspiration, just like the person inspiriting wants to be touched also by the accomplishment. Modern society sucks.

That and the fact that he says "I'm pretty sure I touched all of your kids" didn't sound right. When people say "touched" and "kids" in the same sentence, it usually doesn't have the best meaning.

Anyone else see this movie from Patty’s perspective? She’s made out to be the antagonist, but I think by calling Dewey out for his lack of job and inability to pay rent and calling the cops on him later, she was doing the right thing all along and she was looking out for Ned

@lordshenfan6625 Well, in the beginning of the movie he thought he and his rock band were going to star in a concert and make a lot of money when Patty and Ned told him to come up with some money for the rent. Unfortunately fof him, he was kicked out at the last minute and then got the phone call for a substitute and posed as the substitute since all this happened at the last minute where he needed money urgently since there was no time for him to go job searching to be a music teacher. At least he got that job to be a music teacher at the end of the movie while Ned got a job teaching young kids music.

0:45 1:17 1:24 1:29 Excuse me! Ever since you started teaching here, all my son can talk about is music, he says when he grows up he wants to be a musician! Is this your influence?! Yeah Mr. Schneebly, why has my daughter become obsessed with David Geffen? And how is this homework? 😄😄😄 Love those quotes from the movie. 3:20 3:24 Hey, he told Ned not to say anything to you, Patty! 3:56-4:04 Well thanks a lot Patty! I hope you’re happy! You ruined Dewey’s chance to get in a rock band again! 😡😡😡 I’m just pointing it out because if anyone Dewey should get mad at, it's Patty because she's the one that mainly ratted him out on him not being a teacher! 😡😡😡 He doesn’t need to worry about Ned. Not to mention is it possible that all the kids and their parents see the real Ned and his ANNOYING girlfriend Patty? But I still find it funny there anyways! 😄😄😄

@collincaulfield3399 I wondered that too since I'm sure Patty wouldn't have told the cops to let him go since she called the cops to have him arrested I'm sure. Maybe Ned told the cops that they can let him go and not have to arrest him and then Dewey grabbed his guitars and ran away out of fear and embarrassment. Or maybe the cops gave him a warning saying that they will let him go but said that if he does it again, he will get arrested where he grabbed his guitars and ran away out of fear and embarrassment. After that maybe the cops said that no person with the name Ned Shneebly can work at the school which explains in the next scene that Ned's career was now in jeopardy because of Dewey.
