The Jumbo Jim is a fast, durable, light tire that can be used all-year, in any conditions. It doesn’t do one thing great, but it does many things well.
For me, I just wanted a tire that I could rely on to get the job done no matter where, or what I was riding. And because I enjoy riding my fat bike throughout the year, I wanted the lightest possible option without sacrificing durability. But does that make them the best fat bike tires? Unfortunately these tires are not for everyone. The minimal tread and lighter casing could be a show stopper for some folks.
It’s really going to come down to what you value in a tire, and how you plan to use it. I’ve been running mine in the front and back of my Carver Carbo’Beast for the last two years and I have no complaints.
