Thank you for this. I know you have a running joke about the two Klavans not being related, but I actually think it's quite profound to watch a father listen to his son. Andrew has raised Spencer and he has gone out, encountered the world, and come back with knowledge worth listening to. Because in the beginning, there was The Word. Spencer is more than just his father's imparted wisdom. He can engage with and understand the truth, as all of us can, because it is a real and separate thing. We are told today that we are all moulded by society and there is nothing more to us. No. The truth is out there and can be encountered by any of us. A father can learn from his child because in the beginning, there was The Word.

My degree is in biology, my concentration was marine science, I became an RN after 9/11 because I have scoliosis and couldn’t pass the physical exam for any of the branches of the military. The more I study biology the more my belief in GOD became stronger. I try /struggle to be a devout Roman Catholic. I love my faith and I see GOD’s fingerprints on everything in the natural world, whether in the macro or micro. I’ve come to the conclusion that the material/sensorial world we live in is but a smidgen of the unseen/spiritual world.

The Dunning-Kruger is off the charts here.

so, what’s your point? that this conversation is pointless and or dumb because they don’t have phds in quantum physics? so i guess by that same token, anything you’ve ever had an opinion or thought or ‘fact’ on is automatically clown-status because you don’t have degrees in *insert 99.99999% of subjects*. indeed, by your statement, the ONLY people who should be listened to on this topic are people with quantum physics degrees, whom are also ordained pastors/ministers. good luck finding one of those. i would love for you to write in on the mailbag, and then tell them why they’re clowns for talking about quantum physics and how it can relate to the Lord, and add in all your verifiable scientific references. cuz tbh, it sounds to me like you’re being intentionally obtuse about this, or you just hate gay people (you were quick to point out that spencer is gay- which should have no bearing on the conversation).

A scientist challenges God to a contest to see who could create a better human. God accepts and the arrogant scientist says God can go first. God scoops up some dirt, spits in it, molds it and forms it into a human being. The scientist exclaims, “oh, that’s easy!” Bends down to scoop up some dirt God says “wait … that’s my dirt. You go find your own dirt to start”

Such a ridiculous premise at the start. If science was leading you away from religion then your religion was stupid. The desperation to shoehorn god into science is an indication of poor science, weak faith or a combination of both.

If God created the universe, and science is the study of God’s creation- i dont understand how you can use the language you do in your comment. It’s not shoehorning God into science- it’s trying to figure exactly how God fits into it, or rather- how science fits into God. Science is part of God’s creation.
@spindoctor6385
7 сағат бұрын
@@Watzamada You illustrated the exact problem. You started with a conclusion "that God created the universe" That is not the scientific method. It is theology. I am fine if you want to talk about theology but if your answer to every scientific question is "because God made it that way" then there is nothing left to discover. In another interview, he scoffs at a quote from Leplace as an example of how science started to go bad, because when asked how God fit into his theory of planetary motion, Leplace answered "Sire, I had no need for that hypothesis" If you think he did need God in his hypothesis, then I can not think of a more blatant example of shoehorning in God into science.

REVEREND KLAVAN: One rule for ME, another for THEE. Do as I SAY, not as I DO.
@nicholaspresberg3269
Күн бұрын
@PanhandleFrank Yes, we are saved through God becoming incarnate and suffering death so that we may return to him and fully participate in the Imago Dei. But we also play a rule. God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, which are rules to live by in order to be virtuous and love Him and our neighbor well. In other words, to be virtuous (holy), we must act virtuously, living out the Ten Commandments. But we also must go further than that. Jesus gave us a new commandment: to love our neighbor as ourselves. To take our neighbor so closely into ourselves that there is hardly a distinction between either. Christ further commands us to love one another as he has loved us: to lay down our lives for our friends. All of these are actions. How then is it that we must only believe and we are saved? Christ was asked by the rich young man how he may obtain Heaven, and Christ replied that he must observe the old laws (Ten Commandments). The rich young man said he had since childhood. Then Jesus said to him to give all he had to the poor and come after him. But the rich young man refused; Jesus turned and said that it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the gates of Heaven. Further, when the prostitute comes to Christ, he forgives her sins and says to go and sin no more. Both of these, selling ones riches and sinning no more, are actions. Why would Christ demand such things if all that is necessary is to say you believe in Christ and then grace do all the rest? We must participate in God's plan by acting as God has made us to act, which is to be virtuous and holy. Adam and Eve walked with God in the garden of Eden; they participated in God's creation. But they chose to 'eat of the tree'. They chose to sin and turn away from God. It is only God who can bring us back to Himself. But once he has opened the gates of Heaven, we must also choose to love God and turn back to him by accepting the grace God gives and acting virtuously, which is our choice. We are acting beings, whatever we do matters, and it is by us striving to participate fully with God's grace that we participate in our sanctification. God will not violate our free will. We must choose to walk with God, too.
