8:58 I was really happy to hear that your opinion of the book on the Life of St. Joseph has changed. It's one of my absolute favorite books ever because it showed what true love between a man and a woman - both of whom put God first - looks like. Joseph and Mary shared their minds, heart, and souls - and loved to be in the presence of one another. Joseph loved the sound of Mary's lovely voice. Each put the other first. Truly beautiful and edifying to read and meditate on.

I will definitely check out your videos on Dr Peterson's biblical lectures. I've watched at least 2 of those lectures and I found them incredibly insightful.

Peterson's philosophy is great. He opened my eyes to the simple fact that religion is a real thing. People who like to "disprove" and "debunk" it these days seem to overlook that people did that sort of thing, back in times when anything superfluous or stupid, any needless waste of energy had the potential to wipe out your tribe. Any philosophy, any criticism of religion has to incorporate that reality, and Peterson does his best to make sense of that.

Hello Biblical bookworm thanks again for another great review. I've read most of this book and I'm getting a lot from the author's perspective. I really have appreciated all of your review videos & your personal insights. I used to teach Theology & Philosophy at a Classical High School and I shared one of your videos with my students. I believe it may have been a video on Augustine if my memory is correct. Anyway, I appreciate you and your book review ministry.

I didn't know a priest came up with big bang theory, that's very interesting , thats a prime example of perception , hahaha , I always thought that was a modern twist on how people say thier isn't a God, good to know !!!

Hmm. I will say that the man is the head and the woman is the neck. She should frame where to look.

To be fair I'm not a big fan of comparing people to body parts - being the neck doesn't sound inviting to me 😂😅

I liked the video! A lot of great information on important issues. I am disturbed about how some men can be so abusive towards women, especially their own wives. I simply don’t understand or get that problem. I guess like many other topics and issues, they all fall under the fact that we are broken and that we are sinners. I am so happy when I hear you are learning new things like that many of the scientist have a religious background. That reminds me, have you came across the statement I mentioned to you once that there are direct sins that cry out for revenge to God? At the time, you were not aware of that, and I could tell it sparked some further conversation. Anyway, the video was well worth the wait! Thank you for sharing and all your hard work! I hope you have a wonderful week too!!😊🧁

I guess it can be very tempting to abuse power -and it's a tragedy if that happens at home by someone who one stays married to forever. Have a great week! 🧁😊

It's simply because Satan hates women. I'm sure demons tempt men to mistreat women all the time.

You need to root your understanding of religion in real life. Evolution and religion are not antithetical, religion is what we invented and improved over the millenia to check some of the worst tendencies that evolution has left us with. The reason that Christianity is so big on the concept of sin is that people who didn't really have much to do other than observing their fellow humans back in the days of heliocentrism had figured out a lot about our underlying drives and desires that we have been rediscovering just recently under the label of evolutionary psychology. A man hitting his woman is simply trying to secure his possession of her when he feels he is losing her attention. That is the built-in bevhaviour, but since women are human beings with their own minds and feelings, it is obviously counterproductive. If you had not lost her respect and love thus far, beating her basically makes sure you do. Back in the hunter-gatherer-days, when all you wanted was securing some offspring, that may have been a viable concept, but it stops working in a more individualized society where the tribe will not naturally take over the care-work for the kid when the relationships breaks. Introduce marriage. Now here there is a concept that makes it sinful for her to look for better men, as she naturally would, and likewise for him to abuse her, as he naturally would when she is looking for other men. Marriage will not preserve love in the long run, but since breaking up was societally inacceptable, it made sure that there were a man and a woman who would, albeit often grudgingly, take care of one another and ideally their children, if only to keep up appearences.

People need to be more clear about who they really are before they take an oath or a vow. If your only allegiance is to yourself. A dog is not mightier than a dead lion.
