I am proud of you and any smears they try are pathetic because they do it to everyone who crosses them so nobody falls for that crap. They had a building on a major street in our city. My friend worked in a building across the street from it. He was on an upper floor and looking out the window saw down into a room across the street in s building. Men were beating one man severely. He called the police and evidently it was not an anomaly they were aware and did nothing. My friend saw on more than one occasion these acts of violence. He gets a really weird look on his face when he tells the story. Years later we befriend a vulnerable senior missing a limb who spoke of his experiences as a scientologist. He was severely damaged psychologically by them in my opinion. I do have experience working to serve those vulnerable to "mental illness". Don't forget that humans have the capability to chanel entities from other realms just who are they channeling is the question.

My absolute favorite "POW Video" done by Scientology about someone who has left the "church" is the one about Paul Haggis, it's the one where Miscavige forced Paul's sister to read from a cue card "Paul got lucky with 2 movies in a row, and then hasn't done a thing since"...LOL, HE WROTE 2 MOVIES THAT HE WON OSCARS FOR IN BACK-TO-BACK YEARS!!! If you write "Million Dollar Baby" and "Crash" (also directed and produced it, lol) you don't have anything to prove to anyone ever again in life! That's not to mention the dozen or so hit television shows he has either created or written for throughout his career, including "Thirty Something", "Walker, Texas Ranger", and "Due South"... Miscavige would be much better off if he would just stop trying to attach people's credibility and for once in his life actually address the allegations they're making, but it will never happen because he knows they're telling the truth and he hasn't a leg to stand on.

And for a major church that is the complete opposite is what I was raised in. the church of scientology tried to get members of the association they were part of to assist in a case essentially arguing for child workers, and one church in the association was livid on the matter. "Upon receipt of your e-mail, I immediately looked into the matter and from that review, I have confirmed that no one working at The Episcopal Church headquarters had any knowledge of the NCC’s decision to sign on to the amicus brief. We have contacted the NCC staff today to express our disapproval of the NCC’s stance in this regard and will also be following up to do what we can to make sure that no similar situation occurs in the future." -(Paul Nix , Legal Counsel,Office of the Presiding Bishop,The Episcopal Church) " National Council of Churches had filed an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court supporting the Church of Scientology’s petition in the forced-abortion lawsuit of Laura DeCrescenzo, at least one member of the NCC has expressed its disapproval." -(Tony Ortega 2013)

What I think attracted many people early on (the 1960s) was the word "Scientology" itself. Science plus ology on a subliminal level suggested something vital, valuable, objective, and freshly packaged proposed a better methodology for clearing past traumas than what extensive one on one psychotherapies would allow. That, I imagine, was the allure for many, coupled to the goal of becoming self-actualized, or "clear". What often happens with institutions, as well as governments and corporations, is that once its founders set up the mission goals and protocols, that these then become "the way" that all newcomers are oriented to engage and dance. Here, the people at the top of the pyramid both perceive and project themselves as the gold standard, with those below now doing whatever it takes to ascend. Not a bad play "if" you are at the top of the pyramid. And at the top, there are and always will be good and bad actors, either building or otherwise disturbing and disrupting the organization. Scientology is no exception to the rule. Is it a cult? Don't know because I never pursued, given that it's founder, premise, and methodologies were never appealing to me. However, given that they appear to have collapsed science with fantasy, it seems that the Church of Fantas-ology (fantasy) would have been a better name.

Reports and People talk about the one that left Scientology, Leah, Paul and some prominent heir-achy, but you never hear about the one that got kicked out, because according to Tom Cruise when I explained it to him, 'That Never Happens!' But it did... to me! I was in classes, paid $160 for books, was in my first week and I asked the 'Wrong Question'... I questioned the repetitiveness of the questions and statements in the books. i.e... I felt it was a small subtle form of brainwashing. I was politely asked to go with a Class Monitor, walked me to what I thought was a promotion, straight to a private side door. THE EXIT! I knocked, she came back, I told her; "Can I at least get my refund on the books?" She went & came back in less than 5 minutes, handed me a check. It didn't bounce in my bank... That was it for my very short-lived experience in the judgement World of Scientology! I guess I was just not good enough... story of my Life.

I don't think it's a surprise that a lot of the members of scientology are progressives. You have to ignore a lot of facts in order to be a progressive (of course you have to ignore a lot to be a conservative too, or a statist, at all). But I do believe that it did take a tremendous amount of courage for Haggis to step out of line with the scientologists, even if he remains in line with the progressive movement. And I'm not bashing progressives for their inherent beliefs, because those aren't necessarily a bad thing...freedom, justice, fairness, equality, because these are noble goals, it's just that they're willing to use the force/coercion of the State (government) in order to make them happen and that's just not right. Nobody should have force/coercion initiated against them, for ANY reason. It took me 30 years to come to this conclusion, a shamefully long time. Like Haggis, I was purposefully blind to the facts.

Scott R You like cult leader Stefan Molyneux. Enough said about you and your opinions...
@srobart
9 жыл бұрын
Lee Reynolds Actually, that says nothing about me OR my opinions, ignoramus. Perhaps you should consider watching some of Molyneux's videos, you might learn how to argue competently instead of arguing like a progressive. Progressives never debate the message, because their positions are largely indefensible, so they attack the messenger and try to defame them. If my entire ideology was based around theft and violence, like progressives, I'd probably not be interested in arguing the issues either, though. You'd think that you all would stop that nonsense after a while, especially when so many people call you out on it, but I guess you're not that clever. Conservatives aren't much better, but at least they'll talk about the issues instead of trying to bash their opponent. Try again.
@leereynolds8533
9 жыл бұрын
Scott R It does say a lot about you, actually. How do I know this? I have watched Molyneux's videos, especially the ones that he tried to censor and have removed. I am not a progressive. Rather, I was never duped into his childish and unsophisticated sophistic arguments. He's a cult leader who tries to isolate his fans from friends and family members, or anyone who does not completely buy into the bullshit he peddles. Scientologists call this severing suppressive persons, or SPs, from one's life. Molyneux calls it defooing. You listen to one cult leader, without even realizing it, and criticize another cult leader and his cult. Irony much???
@srobart
9 жыл бұрын
Lee Reynolds I'm guessing you got your information from Tru Shibes, you don't know enough about basic logic to have watched Molyneux's videos. That being said, I encourage you go to WATCH a few of his videos where he says these kinds of things, because he doesn't advocate people leaving their family to join a cult in his basement, he says that nobody should ever leave their family or make decisions like that UNLESS they're under the care of a psychiatrist/psychologist and the medical professional also thinks this is a good idea. He also said it should only be used in cases of abuse, neglect, exploitation and other issues that the parents/family are unwilling to address which are causing lingering issues with the life of the individual. I think there's a huge difference in suggesting someone sees a medical professional to talk about their problems, then to take action if that's what is recommended by the psychologist/psychiatrist and someone who urges people to leave their friends/family in order to join a cult. If you don't recognize the difference, then I think that's a problem with you, not with Molyneux or his listeners. Instead of reading nonsense put out by people who don't know what the heck they're talking about, perhaps you might want to try doing a little bit of research yourself. Of course that's hard, takes time and requires actual thought and consideration, so it might be beyond the scope of your abilities. Or you can continue to spread nonsense, the choice is yours. I've watched Molyneux's videos for years. Never once felt the urge to leave my family or friends and fly to Canada to live in Molyneux's basement. He says some stuff I agree with and some I don't, which is the case for most normal, healthy, rational people. Go back and tell Tru that you failed in your mission to further smear Molyneux. ;)

Scott R I have watched Molyneux's videos. Can't you read? You're exactly like a Scientologist who will spin things to defend David Miscaviage and Scientology. If Paul Haggis had been in the "elite" Sea Org of the Church, he wouldn't have come to the conclusion Scientology can help you get along with your wife better, as married Sea Org members are so often separated from each other & made to work in different cities sometimes, & are apart for weeks or months at a time. Sea Org members aren't allowed to have new children but if they already have children, their children are mostly typically separated from them too. CoS wrecks families.

You go to the top in Scientology if you have enough money to get there. Once you get there, you want your money back.

Just an excellent TV show, covers so many of the important issues. Lawrence Wright's "Going Clear...." book final page has the new news that Hubbard admitted failure, and Hubbard died a few months after admitting this. Lawrence Wright did such an excellent job summing up Scientology and giving new historical info.

Reason they are separating the children is so they don't have emotional comfort , its to raise the next generation as heartless people, those children without their parents are growing up without the love and attention they would get from their parents, without the nurturing and love , they'll just grow up heartless most of them and be scientology slaves

Rest easy people, Leah Remini and Mike Rinder are going to destroy scientology. Miscavige will end up in a small padded cell. Shelly will be rescued and set free.

He's still only half-way out of the cult, or rather, he's fully out of the cult but the cult isn't fully out of him. He still believes that principals of Dianetics helped him relate to others and communicate and blah blah yada yada. This is typical behavior for nearly all ex-cult members. Cognitive dissonance won't allow a person to fully realize the degree to which they have been deluded in a cult, at least not right away. It's too brutal to the ego. So at first they still believe there was some valid justification for their joining in the first place, or that the group wasn't initially so bad, but it got worse over time. In truth it was always an abusive cult, but the victim's realization of that fact and his willingness to admit it to himself despite all the opposing feedback from the group's doctrine, its leadership, and other members create such inner turmoil that it takes years to l realize it .When one first leaves they believe they need to sort through all the cult teachings and discard the bad and keep the good. But a few years later they realize that there really was no good at all to keep. No need to try to recover peanuts out of the poop. Did Hubbard have amazing abilities to communicate? Perhaps as a conman. He knew how to spin yarns and suck others into his delusions. But frankly that's not a skill at all, its a form of evil perversion.
