You are seriously tough to compete in those transcontinental journeys. I would be falling asleep after the first 150 miles. 😀

Per the official history, "The Badlands National Park in South Dakota is named after the Lakota people's name for the area, mako sica, which translates to "bad lands". The name refers to the challenges of traveling through the broken landscape, which includes steep terrain, wet clay that becomes slippery when it rains, harsh weather, and few water sources." Imagine trying to live in or cross that area 150 years ago before roadways and modern transportation! I mentioned that a couple of times while riding through those steep rock spires. If you got stuck down in those rock formations 50-100 meters below the surrounding plains, you'd be well and truly screwed. The buzards would be picking your bones clean after a few days. 😲 --QM

I took my pcx150 scooter on the tail of the dragon very over rated road. If you do the speed limit it’s extremely boring.

How comfortable is the scooter compared to your average motorcycle?

The Super Cub is much smaller and somewhat more cramped than a typical motorcycle. The Cub is technically classified as an "underbone motorcycle" and not a scooter because the engine is frame-mounted instead of being part of the rear swingarm. The Cub's narrow seat and ergonomics are great for short trips around town, but it wasn't designed for this kind of long-haul adventuring. The primary comfort issues we had on this trip were butt numbness and hip/knee fatigue. The footpeg position and small seat don't allow any room for movement or adjustment... it's the "toilet seat" position. That caused us a lot of problems, but we suffered through it for 10K miles in 23 days (10+ hours/day)... OUCH! 🤣👍 --QM
