I'll have to try one, unfortunately, for triggercam & I, both, I got a defective one about 3 yrs. ago, & although it ended well Thanks to the owner of the company, & NO THANKS to an employee there for almost NOT ending well, I took a refund, which is also due to the employee, that said, being the reason to try the S18 & not a triggercam anymore. My experience with triggercam, though few are reported, is right on par with the few others that have had the same experience as I, which may very well be due to the same employee aswell, by not expediting the issue before the short warranty period runs out accompanied by a bad attitude......just wanted to clarify why I have chosen to try S18 in PRS Matches vs triggercam.

A very comprehensive review! Seems like a classic case of you get what you pay for/buy once, cry once. Biggest downsides are the image quality as not many people have experience with or the software to color grade, the microphone, and the glare on the lens. I think the TriggerCam is the way to go overall, but it's two drawbacks are the internal non-user replaceable battery and the short clamp screw. I'm curious what the quality and features of the higher end version will be. Great video!

I’ve been using one and the picture quality is not as good as the triggercam. The reticle gets blurry around the edges just like in your video. My focus knob also started bending when I put it in my sniper bag. But other than that, I like it better than the triggercam, especially when it comes to transferring files which was a nightmare on the triggercam. How do you adjust the video quality? I use CapCut and I think I saw an option there to enhance the video.

The Triggercam is pricey but you can see it in the quality of the footage and construction. I don't know if that premium is worth it and perhaps it's unfair to directly compare the two, but I think I'd opt for the Triggercam.

A very fair evaluation of these two scope cams. Thanks and update when the upgrade is released. Thanks Matt. As always on the major matches please don’t use anything that could cost you even a couple points. Your performance is what matters most.

It could be just low quality optics since the targets were 400 (or more) yards out and parallax was not that much critical in comparison with less than 200 yard ... It may have to crop the image since video format either 4:3 or 16:9. One thing did not mentioned in this video .... It is Made in China, isn't ?

Good review m8, sounds like is way overpriced for the quality and inconsistency.

Do you maybe have any info how does Scopemate S18 works on hunting scopes (scopes without parallax correction)?

Do you have to focus the S18 every time you adjust your throw lever? I have an LPVO Id consider using it on.

it may go very slightly out of focus if you change magnification, but not by much.

Great review Matt. I originally bought my Trigger Cam based off of your FIRST Comparison of the Tacti Cam. I am 100% satisfied with the Triggercam over anything else. I plan to buy a new one if I get a ZCO so I can film through it.

Great review Matt as usual. Just one question You said the come mate did not handle parallax change very well. With the adjustment wheel on the outside of this unit is it possible to adjust your focus for shorter ranges to get it sharper. I know you can’t see what your camera sees on the fly but with some practice and additional witness marks on the focus wheel do you think it would be possible
@Womfat
Ай бұрын
The problem isn’t the adjustment wheel. Once you use that to focus the reticle you can get clear video from any distance as long as you set the parallax on the scope to what the camera agrees with. What I’m saying is that I often can’t take the time to verify or do that because of the fact in shooting a stage. If you know what parallax setting your scope camera likes for each distance, you can take the time to dial that in and get clear video.
