At 1:07 where u have put hadrians wall and antonines wall is that where u think they where? U have put hadrians wall at the north of Scotland when it is in fact north of England so south of Scotland, and antonines wall doesn't go north like that it goes from west to east the bottom of that line is roughly near the start but it doesn't go up it goes across. This is meant to be an educational video and your giving out false information. This is me just starting the video hopefully that's the only mistake. I'm from Glasgow in Scotland a part of antonines wall is just up the road from me and hadrians wall is not in the Highlands I would maybe try fix that before u confuse people who are trying to learn about Scotland when they know nothing of it

This video had so much potential... but so much misinformation let itself down The Picts didn’t call them selves the Kingdom of Alba (pronounced A la pa) that’s the name for when the Gaelic (ga lic) Kingdom of Dál Riata and the Kingdom of the Picts united into the Kingdom of Alba
@user-pv8lp6ht3z
2 жыл бұрын
Nobody really knows what the Picts Called their overall kingdom, we do know there were many smaller Pictish kingdoms such as Cait, Fidach, Fortriu, Ce, Fotla, Circinn and Fib. Who all answered to a high king- elected by the kings of each kingdom, similar to the Irish Kingdoms at the time.

Wow, this video completely ignores the Gaels (Scotti) from Ireland settling in northwestern Scotland, forming the Gaelic Kingdom of Dal Riada and later giving their name (and language) to the nation , Scotland.
@user-pv8lp6ht3z
2 жыл бұрын
The Gaels didn’t actually give the name Scotland. They didn’t even call themselves Scots or Scotti, those were Latin/ English terms. They were however the ones who gave the name Alba which is still the name for Scotland in Gaelic. The Gaels never called Scotland, Scotland it was and still is Alba. Similarly the English always called Scotland Scotland not Alba, as Scotland began to speak English/ Scots they started calling Alba Scotland aswell.

1:50 The "Anglo-Hungarian princess Margaret" mentioned here is Margaret of Wessex, daughter of Edward the Exile and sister of Edgar Æthelin. Her mother Agatha's lineage is a matter of debate. Some say she might have been at least partially Hungarian but others say she was German (Bavarian or Swabian, for example) while others say she was Russian (as in the Rus). We simply don't know. It seems even her contemporaries and those in the following century had conflicting accounts of her origins. What is known is that Margaret was born in Hungary while her father was in exile there, but that tells us little. To state that she is Anglo-Hungarian without caveat is a stretch.

This is just awful and typical of our history propaganda filled with assumptions of everything originating from Rome. It’s not that recorded history started with Rome but rather that Romans were proficient at destroying culture and literature of other cultures. Research the origin of Scotland from Eastern Europe, massive overlap between their pagan mythology and proto-slavid myth (even counting one to four is almost identical in even modern Russian and Scottish Gaelic). I’m hardly even getting started but when you hear about some culture coming from Rome, just run a mile away. That’s like the prospect of Nazi Germany invading every European culture and then subsequent readers talking about civilization and culture, languages etc, all forming because of the Nazi party. In the case of Scotland they had a very advanced civilization long before the Rome even arrived, and one of the few European cultures able to resist colonization (the others include Carpathian cultures further to the East), unlike England with a culture of submitting to the wishes of US, or Rome, or whoever holds the most power and theft sharing potential.
