I honestly think the reboot of Hawaii Five-0 is one of the Greatest Reboots of all time. What an amazing cast and each episode has you on the edge of your seat. Scott Caan and his father have always been favorites of mine, and I'm amazed you got him on the podcast. Plus, I can't wait for Carrie Ann Moss. Loved her in The Matrix!

My favorite Inside of You interview. 1) James Caan is my favorite actor, so it was great to hear inside info of what he was like as a father and his life outside of Hollywood. 2) Scott Caan is genuine and down to earth, seeming totally normal and non-celebrity. I also share his love of Thief and agree it's Mann's best movie. 3) The Paul Walker segment was really great, and there was lots of inside info you'd never expect. The story of him beating up a guy while defending a woman was awesome. **I wish that Rosey had mentioned Boiler Room because Scott was in that movie with Vin Diesel, which also connects to Paul Walker.

This may be the best interview you've done, Michael. There's an ease between the two of you and a flow that is unrivalled and I'm an avid listener. I know Scott from Oceans 11 first and foremost but wouldn't be that familiar with his career but am aware of his continued success. It's remarkable how earnest and kind and level he is growing up with a GOAT like James Caan. I could listen to you guys for hours on end so get him back and get stuck in to his experiences on set etc. Superb work my dude.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Scott's Dad for Cinema Retro magazine, and it ended up being the longest career overview he ever granted. However, my abiding memory was how proud he was of his kids, especially Scott, who it plain he absolutely adored. This was around the time of Mercy the film Scott wrote, and Jimmy was pleased as punch to be a part of the film. He told me he was more nervous than usual for a film, as he didn't want to stuff up for his son!

It amazes me how these actors think they never have enough money to enjoy life. I am poor and find ways to travel and do what I love. Yes, having a family changes things but I live on an extremely low budget every month. It all depends on what you need to feel like you are having fun. I learned to not need a lot. Don't need first class travel. Don't need luxury. Don't need the high life and then you will be set free. The world is teaching us we have to keep running the hamster wheel until we have excess money. This is not true. If you want something you can find cheap ways to get it, IF you are willing to be a minimalist. Minimalism is the key to peace.

Paul Walker. An amazing guy. About 18 years ago I went to the Texas DMV to take a 2 day class on motorcycle riding and safety to get a certificate so that when I went in for my license I could skip the driving part and just take the written test (all this at 47, mind you). The 3 or so training films we watched all had Paul Walker staring and he was LEGITIMATE and SERIOUS. Awesome guy. Thanks for sharing this. I was VERY informative!

I love how forth coming Scott was about his work and life. Rosey you pull the best out in people. Your vulnerability invites others to the safe place you've created. I love meeting such a grounded person as Scott. He was so wonderfully clear about his life and what is what. I loved how vulnerable he was when he shared about the losses in his life. I just lost my brother Ken to brain tumor back in January. And have lost 3 friends in the last 6 weeks. It just means a lot to me to have someone to share their loss so vulnerably. I love how he shared about his life with his father. I could almost imagine what it was like to be in his home growing. He was good at sharing what what he wanted to share but keeping a little bit of his privacy. I love hearing about his work. I look forward to seeing his new film. I didn't know it was filmed here in Tulsa. I almost wanted to jump in and start asking questions. I am in touch some of the film making community. Oklahoma has been very active recently. As with everything there is a lot of politics. Tulsa usually comes up on the short end of the political filmmaking stick. I hope that didn't factor in on his filming experience here.

I love Scott. I didn't warm up to Alert, unfortunately. But I definitely warmed up to this interview. Scott was good in Alert but I was not able to connect to almost any of the characters and then it's kinda hard to keep watching when you don't have anyone to root for. I miss Danny Williams and I miss McDanno. I don't miss the show. But I would so love to see Scott and Alex work together again. I hoped he would talk about it a little more. But I did enjoy all his other stories. And Hollywood is definitely lacking imagination. And it's a business. Sometimes the results are good, often times, not so much. I love the insight in these interviews that comes from both the interviewer and interviewee having the same context which makes both the questions and the answers so much more interesting. Thank you both so much for the honesty and vulnerability. It was an hour well spent. And I could have happily listen for at least another one.

Scott is an absolute great and stand up guy, this is from an interview with his dad where he said Scott saved him from his addiction hell! According to what James said next, Scott once took his anger at his dad's addiction struggles out on someone. "But that's what woke me up, pretty much. Scott went after some guy -- Scott was 15, 16 -- with a baseball bat. He was going to kill him. A dope dealer. My son! It's like crying out of one eye and smiling out of the other, you know? That was like the rude awakening. It was over." What a guy! Love both him and his dad may he rest in peace. He was the GOAT as far as acting goes and he can and I'm sure is proud of his son.

I could relate when Scott said about his dad looking at him funny if he misbehaved. My dad was like that too. Sure, there were a few smacks when he thought it was necessary, but most times he just had to look at me or my brothers if we were out of control. One day my brothers were hitting each other, but as soon as Dad turned to give them a look, they stopped and acted like nothing was wrong. "No Dad, we're not fighting, honest!" They probably started up again as soon as Dad wasn't looking.

You can say whatever you want, you just have to accept the consequences. Freedom of speech only applies between you and the government. The ideal cannot be enforced or litigated. Only the constitutional version can be. You are not guaranteed payment or platform. Getting pushback for something you said isn't infringement. It doesn't mean free speech is under attack. If you are a free speech absolutist, you have to accept absolute consequences. As long as the government isn't restraining or punishing you for what you've said, you're exercising that freedom. I feel like a lot of people expect to be able to say what they want without natural consequence. That's not freedom. That's selfish and weak. Be strong enough to take your licks. Great interview by the way!

I know Joe Rogan‘s comedy club in Texas when you go there you have to check your cell phone in and I’m sure he does that to have a safe place for comedians and I can say things and it’s not record it to where that comedian will have problems and about Dave Chapelle my wife had to go on a business trip for a few days she’s got to go every year for two days with her team from work I can’t remember where it was but Dave Chapelle was and that city and they went to go see him and they did the same thing everybody had to check their cell phones in And that’s another thing I heard Joe Rogan talking about Dave Chapelle is going to open up a comedy spot in Ohio where he lives I know they Chapelle loves living in Ohio like he walks around and everybody knows him nobody bothers him like he’s just like one of the neighbors in the area he lives in not a lot of people but that is a smart thing to have people check their cell phones in the comedian Matt Rife I believe it was his Netflix special and he was blowing up on the Internet and he said something about in his show about he was in Baltimore and the girl had a blackeye oh and I heard he was getting a lot of problems and women were mad because of the joke not sure if it blew over yet or not I’m gonna have to check it out but I believe it was on his Netflix special so it’s not like you can take people cell phones and it’s not record it because it’s going to be on Netflix that sucks for the comedian because he’s actually really funny everybody has their own craft and style comedy that’s why I don’t compare comedians I mean Katt Williams and Dave Chapelle or definitely the Goats of standup even Kevin Hart was on Joe Rogan and was telling a story about him and Chris rock I forget exactly where they were but he heard Dave Chapelle was in the city they were in and him and Chris rock had a 45 minutes of material they did broke down Dave Chapelle they talk to him and when he got there they told him to go ahead and go up first he said Dave did 45 minutes or an hour and didn’t write nothing down he said they looked at each other and brought up the piece of paper and theater material way Kevin Hart said they Chapelle is the goat his opinion he doesn’t have employees working for him like Kevin Hart he has like 50 people or something like that working for him as a company and they Chapelle when he wants to make some money he’ll get in his truck and his fifth wheel and go to drive to different cities
