Excelente Scott Hamilton ! Merece todas as homenagens por ser um músico dos melhores no saxofone, bem como por seu caráter. Scott Hamilton presta um serviço abnegado na Jazz Hause de Joan Chamorro em Barcelona, na distante Espanha. Somos todos latinos e ligados a península Ibérica !!!! Congratulations.

You can rip the crap out of any tune ... That doesn't mean a damn thing. Scott is not that type of player and the tune itself stylistically is suited to his style ... That's why he chose it. There are many different styles of jazz playing and that's what makes it so interesting. When everybody plays like John Coltrane, Randy Brecker or David Sanborn then you have the satanic homogenization of jazz like everything else. We are not all the same. There is not one way of expressing yourself in jazz that is "better" than someone else once you to get to a certain level. At that point it's all about what you prefer stylistically. There's a ton of players that have fallen into the gazillions of notes self masturbation type of solo that is driven by a narcassict desire to assert their virtuosity and has nothing to do with the audience or the tune itself. I am sick of those type of players ... I can listen for about 5 minutes .... Be blown away by their technique and that's about it ... I'd rather hear Stan Getz, Scott Hamilton, Stanley Turrentine or other really original stylists play one note than the usual cascade of nothingness that explodes out of most jazz players these days ... Check out Andy Snitzer for someone with giant technique but with enough restraint and taste to never let it take over the music .... IMHOO
@colinbilling2898

Scott is well capable of playing up tempo but he plays what he knows his audience likes , most Jazz gigs these days are supper club type of gigs and playing in a frenzied style wouldn’t be appropriate but if you look at the festival gigs he was doing particularly in the 80’s and 90’s you will hear the other side of his playing he’s been a stellar performer for nearly 50 years

Dude Scott Hamilton decent? he is one of the greatest tenors alive. playing scales up and down fast isn't really that hard, making music is way more challenging. Scott is dedicated to play melodies. Any kid out of college could play thousands of notes. And make it sound really tense, play outside, play patterns non stop. they all sound the same and there is nothing there.

I wish more musicians had this kind of stage presence. If you don't like what he's doing or you have a problem with what he's not doing, then close your eyes. I get so tired of hearing people say that a musician isn't "feeling it" or isn't "engaged" unless he/she is moving around with the rhythm. Phil Jackson is arguably the greatest coach in sports history, and he could coach 5 games straight without saying a word or even leaving the bench. People think a coach is not engaged if he/she is not pacing the sidelines being animated and obnoxious. Try and tell me that the greatest coach of all time isn't engaged in the game because he's just sitting there. Nonsense! Let Mr. Swoboda do his thing!!
