Meet Scott Land master puppeteer. SMP Vegas spent sometime with Scott and his cast of marionettes. His passion for his craft is inspiring. Enjoy and share.
What a lovely man, and such an inspiring and beautiful story. My aunt bought me a marionette when I was 10 years old. I loved him so much! When I was 13, we emigrated, and I wasn't allowed to take him. Now in my fifties, I am starting to learn how to make them - I finished art school two years ago. I doubt that I will ever make anything that is past pretty basic, but stories like this are just wonderful :) Xxx

Wow great creations you have. At 65 (yeah I know it's too late to develop the skills I need) I am now retired and want to make music videos with puppets and marionettes. Sure it's a lot of work but I have all the time in the world to learn now. Thanks for a very informative video. Hoping to someday catch one of your shows and possibly become a puppeteer and fill an empty gap in the pursue of puppetry heaven. lol Happy Holidays! I have a question! What would be the best way to learn your craft. I know the time factor is important but maybe you can show or tell me someone who can show me the basic skills I need and learn from there. Possibly some video links and or books that teach puppetry. I used to be a "Imagineer" at Disney so I have many talents in miniatures, carpentry, electrical, welding, and many other things besides being a multi instrumentalist for over 50 years. Thanks!

It’s never too late! I just took a class at the Scott Land School in Las Vegas and one of the students was 74 ☺️ I highly recommend checking out the school, or like he said, the library is a free and easy place to start 😉
