Scott Weiland is so misunderstood. I think if you take his personal history into account, you can understand why he had to self-medicate. My heart goes out to him. It's not his fault. He needed help and no one understood how to provide it for him. Just my two cents.

R.I.P Scott. Such an amazing talent. Many of his “ covers” sounded better than the original artists. The pure joy in Ray Manzerek’s face when Scott sung Doors tunes with them says it all. Jim Morrison was a visionary and so was Scott. He had a voice that could sound so different on cue. He was one of a kind . ❤️

That was done quite awhile ago on the Carson Daly show when they filmed in Hollywood for a week. I played pedal steel guitar for Scott on this and for the studio demo. The actual video was on YT for awhile, but for some unknown reason they took it off. Scott is a true star in every sense of the word! Wish he'd use me again! I had that "in the presence of greatness" vibe just being on stage and in the studio with him!

Scott is such a phemenonal singer. Hardly any of his voices on his songs sound the same. I like Eddie Vedder but I can always recognize Eddie's voice. Scott seems to have so many variations.

I got into a bit of trouble and was arrested. Got out of jail after 2 weeks at 11pm. Got home and saw a commercial saying Scott would be on Carson Daily at 130am. This recording. What a welcome home. Two very flawed people. Him and I. I'm still here. I wish he was.

Lyrics Step out on the pouring rain. Left out on the evening train. I was just a little boy thinking about the memories. The father that you used to be. San Jose is a sun-drenched town. Your old truck with the windows rolled down. Jerry Jeff riding high on the radio. I wanna know why you had to go. Took a plane to California, yeah. End of summer, 1970's. Telling you that you're the man that taught me how to sing. Why did you go? Leave me so lone... so young... so young. Tell me things that I wanna know. Now I'm a man with a family of my own. Why'd you go and leave me in the cold? With the face in the mirror of the man I didn't know. In the desert where the warm wind blows. Where'd you go when I was so alone? Those California nights would be so cold. I wanna know the man I didn't know. Now I'm the one with the radio song. The wife and kids that tell me what's wrong. I need the man in my life who made me who I am. I don't want to lose you again. Those California nights can be so cold. I wanna know the man I didn't know. Tell me things that I wanna know. Now I'm a man with a family of my own. Why'd you go and leave me in the cold? With the face in the mirror of the man I didn't know. In the desert where the warm wind blows. Where'd you go when I was so alone? Those California nights can be so cold. I wanna know the man I didn't know. I wanna know the man I didn't know.

I loved experimenting with drugs. Quick said...but it was another time. Never needed...wanted to be...there. Had a friend that had my 6- as I always had his in the process. Later, I found more and more surrounding me that never should have nor ever could. I miss relaxing and opening an envelope on the nights pleasures unknown. Later in life, I see destruction all around me-time to come back to earth for another round... -1970-present
