a good video but could have been improved by better camerawork as it's difficult to work out how some of the knots being used are formed

And Why are they roped in?

I think it's just to demonstrate the technique. Roping there would be more of a hindrance than helpful.

Re-thread @ 1minute and 40seconds. Overhand not fully re-threaded. Shows bite going through, not re-threading the whole overhand and finishing with stopper.

Hello Emily, thank you for watching the video. You have described what you saw. A single over hand was tied, the tail threaded through the harness and then, rather than re-threading the single overhand knot, (which is one way of doing it), the tail is simply passed through the overhand knot and a stopper knot tied to secure, which is another way of doing it.

how would you attached the person to the alpine butterfly?

R T a overhand can be loaded 3 ways just the same as an alpine butterfly, that is why they are commonly used in both caving and mountaineering situations

Assuming this was a grade 3 scramble it leaves the middle-person completely unsecured if s/he unclips from the quickdraw to clip in again afterwards (at around 2:33).

They are being belayed from the top right? So they are still protected

Encouraging simul-climbing ...moving together roped without normal belays is asking for trouble, anyone falling can bring down the whole party .. More so if used with novice climbers
