I used to scrap a little on the side. One day, a friend got me permission to go into an old factory that was going to be torn down in a couple of weeks. He said I would like it, and I did. Years before that, a company had gone in and cut out all the brass pipes and fittings, anything aluminum, removed all the copper wires, and stainless steel all in neat piles. Don't know why they never came back for it, but it worked out for me, made over 10k in a week. Once in a lifetime scrap haul.

And that is just what they had done, claiming in their video that "they had permission by the owner, that's why they knew the combination". It happens. I assured them that I was armed and knew how to shoot. I told them they could pay me for my lock and leave if they never came back. They had no money, so they gave me the phone for my lock to keep me from calling the cops. I called the entry listed as mom and she brought them back out there to recover their phone and pay for the lock. She also watched their video and beat their asses with a switch from my tree before they got back in the car. Telling them they were lucky an old veteran didn't shoot them for trespassing and attempting to steal from him. I assured them the cops would not be called, but that I keep my word and will shoot the next time I find someone in my buildings without permission. Mom slapped them upside the head, apologized again and again, then drove off, screaming at them. I hadn't seen a switch used like that since I was a kid myself. I hope they got the message, other folks in the country might act severely the first time. I got rock salt in my ass as a youngster. You better be scraping the copper and aluminum separate as well as saving the Freon. Must be a rookie operation.

They probably have to have a license to scrap that kind of stuff depending on location. In Tennessee they get stolen off of roofs and out of backyards at night so not just anyone can scrap hvac materials…

If you new how to work on acs and you got them clean looking and the condenser had no leaks and the compressor kicked on and the fan worked ànd it all worked and someone couldn't afford a brand new one a used 3 ton unit could go for 800 to 1500 depending depending depending the brand and shape it was in
