How would you use scrappy 2½" strips? Binding? Accents in bags? Other?

I made 8 kid quilts for grand nieces and nephews for 2023. I saved the fabric trimmings and planned to make doll/teddy bear quilt for the 4 girls for 2024 Christmas and scrappy fabric covered composition book covers with crayon/ colored pencil slots for the 4 boys. Your tape scraps will be perfect. Love the idea for accent trim for bags too. 😂

Wow! You were busy!! I still have a blanket my grandmother crocheted for me in 1986 - hopefully they will cherish their quilts like I cherish my blanket 🥰

I have been doing machine embroidery for years. I buy 12" wide by 25 ft wash away stabilizer for $20. It's great for sewing scraps to, strip quilts, qayg and even embroidery lol

I have done this technique using Adding Machine Tape from the Thrift Store... what a pain... it works, but the problem is spending hours upon hours picking out the paper! This Gypsy Tape is a great idea... wonder how expensive it is? Would be great if we could buy it on the bolt, and cut our own, for cost savings, as usually this type of notion is on the spendy side.

I know they make it in squares for quilting but not sure about yardage… I know someone who works there and will suggest it! Will always be more than adding machine tape but no hours of picking it out

I have this tape. Love your video. I would love to make a coin quilt out of this with a wider plain fabric inbetween the coin columns or I would like to make small doll quilts. Monica from Australia

Sounds like you will have to do both - how would you decide? Happy sewing and thanks for commenting. 🥰

@@Crawford644 this scrap tape is designed to stabilize your fabric while you sew and then it washes away where dryer sheets wouldn't.

Do you wash the strips using the tape before you have it quilted or after it is quilted?
