Excellent (I'm taking notes). Me not being very high-tech I wanted more control, so I used the old light dimmer switch (from my dining room wall outlet) & also a wireless dimmer switch from the home supply store to have a more delicate control over my old HO power pack & also my O scale tinplate Marx Trains. It really lets them go slow as a snail.

That's a great idea actually 👍. I'd not thought of regulating the primary. Don't try this with switched mode though, "They don't like it up em Mister Mainwaring" 😁

Smart little build! I love narrow gauge critters and this is a perfect loco. Well done!

Cracking build. Driver looks more Nigel Mansell than Ned Flanders but I suspect the latter is better suited to the narrow gauge lifestyle...

Great little build. I have an unused Smokey Joe that will likely be getting a similar treatment now I've seen yours. Bob Carolgees might not be driving it though! ;-)

Superb! Thinking about it, I wonder if the same exercise might produce a nice 009 shunter using a Farish N gauge 6 wheel chassis (from an 08 or small tank loco). 🤔

Cracking work as always. The driver? A cross between Bob Carolgees and Nigel Mansell😆😆 With the loco can you switch the old motor out for the later 5 pole version - that will make it run smoother and slower?🤔🤔🤔

Hi Jason, really enjoyed watching your video on building the 0-4-0 loco body.I’m new to o 16.5 modelling.is it possible you give me the dimensions of the loco body.or build a body for me.kind regards Alan.

Hi Alan. I'm afraid I sold this loco so I can't measure it for you and regrettably I don't build commissions. The nice thing about freelance locos is that there is no prototype as such so go with what you think looks right. I'd start with the chassis that you wish to use and a 7mm figure and I'm sure you'll work out some workable dimensions from that. Thanks for watching. Jason

Hi. In fairness I didn't draw any plans for this one as I kind of produced it on the hoof! the body length is 95mm (excluding buffers), width 35mm, overall height of cab 70mm, height of engine housing 48mm, cab length 36mm. Hope that helps. Jason
