Lyrics:
Now, as for The Hybrid:
The Hybrid has something in common
With the circus clowns
They both put on their people masks
They wear like ballroom gowns
Masquerading and parading
Up and down city blocks
Dressed in Gerlachian shirts
And mismatching socks
Yeah! He buried all of his self-loathing
Underneath the candy striped clothing
His name is synonymous with Doom and Gloom
Whereas, she smells of beer and Happy perfume
Her name is [Redacted- Miss Annabelle Durry]
The means: [Redacted- A 'durry' is Australian slang for cigarette]
She was born on [Redacted- Slang is slang for shorthand language]
That's [Redacted- And durry is shorthand for Bull Durham]
She's got the four cutest little kitty cats in the world
Their names are: [Redacted- Bull Durham is an old timey type of rolling tobacco. Thanks, internet!]
She's my crazy cat lady
She's my crazy cat lady, yeah! Meow!
She knows where all the warp-zones are,
She knows the 1-Up glitch
She wrote in my little black book
That she's the hottest bitch
She got me started talking about zombie movies
And paused me as she smiled and confessed that she loves me
She agrees pink and black are punk colors
I couldn't half assed for any more in a love
When I'm with her I never feel bad
Then I woke up... and... she was gone...
She calls me on June twenty-first
Wanting to hang out more
I kiss her once and pass her test
She declares I'm not a whore
Whenever we hang out we always have too much to drink
She's turned my frown upside down
She's made my blonde hair pink
And when I'm with her I never feel bad
She's the incestuous sister I never had
She agrees pink and black are punk colors!
Says I'm a living, breathing, work of art
She is my female counterpart
She makes this atheist 'Imagine' there's a heaven above
She is my saucy little ketchup packet o' love
Says I'm a living god, like Hirohito
But then she's hot and then cold like a microwaved burrito
Ain't nothin' about this love is fake
Though I don't know how it's relevant to her how much money I make
But she agrees pink and black are punk colors!
I couldn't half assed for any more in a lover
And [band kicks in and gets in-between them]
Umm?!
Wait! I wasn't done!
Dammit!
Don't you mother fuckers want me to be happy?
What the fuck is wrong with you?

Not-The-Central-Scrutinizer:
"You might be confused by some of Chris's lyrics. Porn sites keep analytics and keep track of what people search for, for when they wanna touch their private parts. For the past few years running, in the top ten, you'll find: 'Mom', 'Stepmom', and 'Step Sister'. There's a little bit of social commentary in these songs: try to keep up!
Hi, it's me again, seriously, you can look it up online and see for yourself; There's 'Pie' charts on the subject."
Commentary:
Directors trademark: each project requires at least one "Anti-relationship/Unrequited love" song.
Dulcinea (Dipsomaniacs), the title and some of the lyrics, are influenced by the song of the same name from Man of La Mancha, along with the duality between Aldonza and Dulcinea. Again, this project is a love letter to rock operas, and the like. One of the most noteworthy ones is Frank Zappa’s “Joe’s Garage, Acts I, II, and III”, in this song I directly reference it with a nod to that story’s narrator, The Central Scrutinizer.
This is the story of a porn addled adolescent; well meaning, his heart is in the right place, however involuntarily celibate and starved for sex. And a girl with issues of her own, uniting together under the one commonality that they share: getting drunk. And with that comes affirmation and a newfound sense of masculinity for your humble narrator, but he doesn’t quite know how to assert it yet, at least not in a healthy way.
I wanted to tell a love song told from a naïve mindset, but in a corrupted world with corrupted people. Shouting it from the rooftops that "I am in love!", but everything being stated would easily be recognized as great big, huge, red flags from a more experienced perspective.
And YES!! That was supposed to be a nod to Battletoads when she "paused" the game she was playing with the narrator.
Dulcinea (Dipsomaniacs), 2006, words and music by yours truly
