I have a ranch on 2 acres. To be honest my yard has been so ghetto. Inside of my house is nice but outside - ouch. This year new siding, new windows (doing them myself.) Since I saw you do the veneer stone on the side of the yellow house I'm down with doing some accent sections on my house. I'm seeing a new sitting area with a zen garden in the middle. Sweet!

Gotta love the looks of that pattern! And Techo's colors blend really well together. Three questions; you showed levelling and screeding the final base but you did not dive much into how you came up with what height you were at. Did you use a laser to make sure the patio was the correct depth lower than the steps or just eyeballed it? And question two is have you ever considered using a vacuum system for handling the pavers? For the final laying from the stacks to the ground, I've found that the t-handle vacuum is a HUGE backsaver and really increases how fast I can lay patterns like this job. And questions three is what edging do you use? With the frost heaves in the northeast, I know that concrete or plastic edging doesn't hold up more than a few years. I've been having success with the aluminum edging from Pave Tool. Is that what you're using? I'm a new subscriber that just found your channel so I apologize if you showed these methods in other vids.
@TheChristianHardscaper

Thank you, I love the color tones from Techo and this Chestnut Brown color matched the house excellently. I don't use lasers very often, I find all my grades and slopes with string lines / string line levels and by using my screed pipes. I don't find a need for using a laser on the majority of projects. And I don't like the vacuums either, maybe for larger slabs but even the large paver in the Blu 60 mix is not too heavy. It is quicker to stack them up and slap them down by hand. I like the vacuum for lifting pavers up after they were laid, that's for sure. I use concrete for edge restraint, it may have some downfalls to it but I have not had to repair any concrete edging I have done for years. I may have to at some point but even when I do, it is an easy repair to break off the failed section and install new concrete. That is not so easy with plastic or aluminum edging. But hey, many ways to skin a buck they say.. LOL Thanks for the feedback! ✌

Nice work man! The double border adds a nice detailed look. I'm going to extend a back concrete patio with some pavers. When I butt up to my patio, should I add a little extra base to prevent sinkage or a difference in my level from paver to concrete? I'm using a 3-piece design like you do. Hope it comes out as beautiful as yours do! Also, is it hard to avoid the 4 way seams like you always mention with a 3 piece design? God Bless you and your guys! Also, love that new Kubota loader you got!
@TheChristianHardscaper

Thank you very much, I love that border! And yes, when meeting with an existing patio you want to set the pavers about 1/4" higher and hammer down level with the existing patio to prevent settling in the future. 4 ways can be tough to avoid but worth the effort in my opinion. They just kind of stick out to me... I am loving that machine, God bless you too and thanks for the support! ✌

Fellow hardscaper. Enjoy the vids. I mean this as constructive criticism. But people slowly resent in silence. I wouldn't correct the bars Benny set, you gotta build the confidence. Also, if your screed isn't perfectly parallel to the foundation when on top of the bars during set up, it technically will give you an inaccurate reading. I do the exact same set up as you, however i run a digital level on top of my 8 ft screed, 0 it out parallel to the foundation. So when I'm setting up the bars i know they're bang on in. Thanks for the vids
@TheChristianHardscaper

Hey man, I know what you mean, but those first few rails are the most important. Especially for this patio because that is where the majority of the surface water is directed to. Benny does a great job and I typically just double check the rails and leave them because they are fine. But even 10 years from now I would be double checking the work. That is exactly what the one running the project needs to do so you don't have bigger issues down the road. He had the rails very close but I just wanted a bit more slope to insure water run off. But I totally hear where you are coming from, thanks for the feedback brother! ✌
