"The Crawling Eye" came out in 1958. This is supposed to be 1955, I thought (correct me if I'm wrong, please). Similarly "nurse on duty" gimmicks and other William Castle-style bits also didn't happen until 1958. I don't care HOW bad Riverdale's plots and dialog are. But if you are going to set a show in the past, there's no excuse for anachronism that 60 second on the internet would have avoided. It's really bothersome that people can't distinguish the '40s, '50s, and '60s from one another, especially when they are in charge of an IP that became famous exactly in those periods.

And when The Queen's Gambit used Mason Williams' "Classical Gas," which was released in 1968, as the cover music for a scene set at the 1967 U.S. Championship, it totally ruined the series? (Not to mention what Stranger Things has done with the '80s!) Get real. They're obviously not trying for perfect historical recreation, but they ARE trying for period-appropriate references. You should be grateful that, in some small way, shows like this are reawakening an interest in fascinating cultural periods from our past.
