So carly rae jepsen has been writing music about her personal experiences? What am I missing that makes this so fascinating? Sounds like he just figured out that she writes about herself in great detail. Can someone elaborate on why this is so fascinating? Melonman was pretty vague on why this is so crazy. Sure, I could go read 150 pages of max landis ranting, but I don't like aneurysms. Someone enlighten me
DRdiva It's not just the fact that she's writing about her personal experiences, it's the fact that essentially every song she's ever written has been her reflecting on what appears to be the same depressing scenario, like she's in hell or something. That's pretty unprecedented, even artists that people make fun of for having repetitive lyrical content (Adele, Taylor, etc.) don't go to this extreme. Plus it's kind of interesting that her song topics are all pretty sad despite having such a bouncy and fun vibe sonically. So yeah it's kinda cool imo
@drdiva70
6 жыл бұрын
Alex that is a pretty dope contrast. These heartbroken lyrics paired with these great sugary tracks. She's awesome. It just doesn't strike me as something that required an entire website to point out. Maybe he spent so much time on this, he needed to turn it into something that justifies all that work. It's just that his findings aren't all that fascinating. And I REALLY don't see why fantano of all people find this all that intriguing or insightful. I know anthony is a fan, but it just doesn't strike me as all that fascinating.

Well artists need to pull from the most emotional situations in their lives and if that's her most emotional situation than that's what it is. So many artists make songs about the same situation over and over and over again that it really should just be where a musical artist starts out. I think his analysis is a pretty good portrait of how an artist can build a successful career and musical style just from one experience because when you think of it the average person doesn't go through emotionally charged situations everyday, it's even rarer to go through an emotional situation that one can make a whole song about.
