Listen to these two wonderful etudes by Alexander Scriabin, as performed by pianist Duane Hulbert
The first, Scriabin's Etude Op. 8., No. 5 is filled with spectacular (and difficult) jumps. Yet despite it being extremely challenging, it's also extremely beautiful. It was written in 1894.
The second piece performed here is Scriabin's Etude Op. 42, No. 4, written 1903. It is simple, wistful, and sweet.
