I was out of town visiting family for a week - lovely to see them, but it is always good to get home...........I'm not usually on-line when I travel, so returning home this time, I was eager to see what I missed from you! So much to catch up in just a week - you've been busy! Pelicans, feathers, floral design and the first one I missed - these dragonflies! I have already watched through them all - and Diane, I really do thank you and Tamsin...........I realize even more now how much joy and fun watching and painting bring me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge AND your real life.🥰

I love this whimsical painting Diane . I have been making my junk journals for a number of years mostly for maintaining a personal journal but also for playing with collage and art techniques within .It is really my escape and I love the act of making something out of something that was destined for the bin .I have been painting with watercolour for many years and of course I never throw anything out so a lot of paintings that are not loved by all get new life as journal covers ,journal cards tuck spots book ,etc There is so much to explore with making art and it is truly my happy place. Have a good week Diane and hope your husband recovers soon.

Loose dragon flies. Just what I needed today. Will be sketching some later. Love the loose flowers and the freedom to not be perfect, just like real flowers. The peaches- same problem in the US. They rot or taste like styrofoam wherever I buy them and whatever I pay. All knowing computers - we have stopped buying them. Stopped buying most stone fruit for the same reason.

Yes, what have they done to the fruit? I still remember buying big boxes of peaches from the roadside on the highway between Florida and Georgia and being amazed by them, also similar fruit from vans parked beside the road here in France… all gone now in France, don‘t know about the US. So sad xx

Hey there, been a while since I commented, but really, you need to hear something. Icommiserate about the state of things. Here in the US, it seems overwhelming, on several fronts. But the fruit, yes! You feel you were lucky if some fruit is good. But that often/green thing is weird for sure. But what I want to say is that you and your paintings and words are so beautiful and lovely. Just what the world needs now. It’s hard. We deal with such uncertainties and change and worry, it’s not right. Too many people cannot be decent and reasonable. At least it seems that way, but in my very small (now that I am old!) world day to day, everyone is nice! Just had Ukrainian members of my family visit. They just came to Florida via Eastern Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Austria and Germany! They are shell shocked! Such a dear family, two kids, 15 and 17, very sweet, speak no English. The dad had to leave his mom in occupied area with no contact possible. But they have my brother, married to the woman, mother of the mom of this fam.ily, to give them a home and send the kids to schools etc. But one gets perspective from seeing the haunted look in this woman’s eyes. It is so sad, they lost everything but have each other. There’s always that yin and yang. Just as I hear in your voice. I’m sorry your husband has been in hospital. I hope he’s okay. Take heart. We will all deal with things, better off if we spend time on making art, having fun with it, nonjudgmental! I do wonder how you make everything you paint look so lovely! Always! Too long, I know. You are much appreciated! I wish we could be friends in person. You are very likable. Simpatico! We just have to reach in to our inner resources and share love and concentrate on real things like nature, for me it’s birds and painting. Take care, Barbara

@@DianeAntoneStudio Ha! No worries, you're very welcome! Have just had a swift trip down memory lane on their website - those ARE my beloved fluffy lettuces!!! Fancy that 😂❤️😂 Website and delivery is definitely new since I lived there - a good few years back now. Wonder if it was Covid related, some good to come of it then. And fantastic that they'll deliver to you - even better. Have fun choosing... am getting quite nostalgic and a tad jealous of you being able to get such gorgeous lettuces impossible to find here in UK. Hmmm... wonder if I can find seeds to grow some myself... 😂

I'll give them a try and put my next order in with them instead of Intermarche, we do "drive" with them where you order and go and pick up, I think you can do that in England too. France isn't as good as it used to be, sadly. But we do always look on the bright side! Thanks for your input, much appreciated xxx

P.S. my main tip when JJ is to start out keeping your (junk) that you collect organized because it can easily become very unruly! Good luck!!💕

Great tip! I've emptied out a couple of box files to put things in to keep them under control!!

That’s so sad, living in a country where the people think it’s ok to cheat and be mean to residents. Beautiful little painting btw.
